I notice no difference between mile 33 when I drove it off the lot, and mile 9008 today. On normal driving, I also notice no big difference between Track - Sport - Auto mode.

In my Shelby, there is a definitive distinction when you switch the Bilstein selector betweeen normal and sport/track, as well as the steering sensitivity selector between comfort - normal - sport. If you breathe on the steering wheel in sport mode you'll swerve immediately into a ditch LOL In Comfort it's like driving a big 1990's Lincoln Town car.

Yeah, I don't understand the comments that there's no difference, it very obvious between the settings. I usually go to sport on the highway, it really settles the rear end down at 90+

Power is one measurement but the Explorer Sport doesn't match the SRT8 in handling and/or braking. IMO, this is more important vs. pure HP and torque. Also I believe the Explorer AWD system is front drive bias. I'll pass on this for a performance vehicle.

I don't own an SRT8 but it is on my list for a new vehicle next year. Others being considered are the S4/S5, RS5 and M3. Most are the same comparison of FI vs. NA V8.

FWIW, yes my car selection is all over the place. It is simply a matter of my wife picking a replacement vehicle. If she goes crossover or wagon, I go with a sedan or coupe. Otherwise it will be a SRT8 or CPO X5M.
Good points as well. I think with Chryco it is the brute force method...no idea on the handling prowess of the sploder...but yeah I am sure the Jeep has it beat. I doubt the sploder has seen the Nuremberg Ring for tuning.

I am kinda in the same boat...need something to haul three kids, AWD and lots of go...manual would be sweet.

If Audi would simply bring over the RS4/Avant...I would be all set. I drove the S4...while typical Audi solidness and "quick" on the highway when you shift into 3rd to pass...you get alot of noise and not a lot of go...tough to replace displacement there.

The hunt continues...

Agreed. If only the RS4 (i.e. Avant) as available in the states, my decision would be fairly easy. I know somebody will make a statement, what about the V series wagon. While the power would be addictive, the lack of AWD rules it out for my winter driving (trips to the mountains, skiing, etc).

I am very interested to see how the MY14 SRT8 will be updated. If there is any fear factor it is with resale value. In-terms of reliability, my Overland with 24k miles has been great.
