Finally! Brought home a 2015 SRT Jeep!

Well my search went from used 2014's to new left over 14's and finally got the right deal on a 15. 13 miles(bad sign), 2015 white, hk, tow, pana roof, Laguna leather seats, spider wheels. Got the jeep in VA Farrish jeep. Great to deal with. Bought the truck over the phone. They gave me 400 more on my trade and this bad boy was 800 less than the left over 14 I tried buying a few days ago. Plus it has a tow hitch.
Put 350 miles on it so far with drive back to NYC. What a blast. Didn't floor it yet, maybe 75% throttle and good lord it's fast. Generally I don't think a break in is all that important and usually heavy footed my past new cars and they all performed well. I tried varying the revs on the way home because I figured driving home at 1900 rpms for a break in was not the best idea. Anyway. I'll change oil at 500-600 miles then again at 1500-1600 miles.
What a blast so far. In track this thing is nasty!

Beautiful Jeep! Congrats!

I just inquired a dealership about a 2015 Jeep SRT 8 they have. (The have like 7 or 8 on hand.) I "HOPE" I am able to bring it home.

Re: Finally! Brought home a 2015 SRT Jeep!

I came across that Jeep advertised (Ebay/Cars.com) when I was searching a month ago. Thought is was perfect except I preferred the black/suede interior. Ended up buying at a nearby VA dealership. Congrats!

Re: Finally! Brought home a 2015 SRT Jeep!

Thanks guys. No plans really yet on mods. I thought I do the exhaust, liked the gt haus, but the stock sound is pretty decent especially inside the truck. When I first heard the salesman rev it I was like that won't do. Now that I own the truck I see that you can't rev past 3500rpm in park so that explained why it didn't sound mean when the salesman rev it.

The snow we just had put a damper on things but i hit 500 miles today and rolled into it and went WOT and it's great! Love the passing power from 45-75 just gets up and scoots. Never had a dodge product but this 5150lbs jeep moves like my old ls2 (400/400)6spd gto did. That car was 3800lbs. This hemi motor seems to make a ton of torque much lower than my old ls2 did. Granted the six speed made the car more jumpy than this smooth 8spped auto, but in track mode the jeep feels sweeeet. My gto ran a 12.97@109.5 stock. I'm not expecting ET or traps like that but if it pulls a 13.3 with a 103-104 trap at atco in negative da I'd be more then satisfied.

Handling is light years ahead of the gto as well. Probably the biggest surprise so far. 80mph turns with one hand in a truck is interesting lol. Braking, very strong too. I have yet to launch it but will once the streets have dried. Even from second gear this things moves out. In fact gears 1-5 seem very steep and on the freeway when you go to track mode the gear drops from 8 to 7 mKing things much more urgent feeling.
One small downside is with jeep sales exploding and a ton of them on the road, I have had at least 5 or 6 of them driving erratically trying to race. One guy was vey close to me in his limited and was pissing me off. So I manaully down shifted a few gears and rolled into it making him disappear.
Overall I so happy so far. Snow mode worked great in 8" of snow as well. I have yet to even connect to uconnect as I've been busy with work. Plus I'm not a tech savvy guy . I'm even averaging 13.4 mpg and no I'm not breaking her in on Eco mode .

Lastly. I'd like to do a catch can. Seems like many recommend this. Do they sell a clear can? I thought I saw something like that here but my search brought back nothing. Which can is good? I'd rather not have the two hoses going over the valve cover like I've seen one kit do. I'm also not looking to do a custom job. Hopefully I can buy a kit that looks visually stock and 90's into the can instead of over the valve cover.
Thanks again and now.....time for another cruise!jim.

Best option on catch can. Hose can be routed under the valve cover if needed.

Congrats! Watch out for a clunking 6-5 downshift. There are a few around.
