Font brake pads again queston

My new 16 SRT front dust is out of control. I have searched the threads but they are older threads. My SRT has like 500 miles on it. So which brake pads on this day and age are the ones to get to stop or greatly reduce this fiasco? I read Wagner thermoquiets were supposedly good. Can someone post a link also to them? I would love to order them quickly and have them put on along with my new exhaust next week?

Re: Font brake pads again queston

I went with Hawk Ceramics on mine. Big difference in dust. Still perform great.

Re: Font brake pads again queston

You are going to hear a lot of opinions here. The best way to get rid of dust is to go ceramic. With that said your popular choices are Hawk or PowerStop. Hawk are more expensive. I have Hawk on the Jeep and PowerStop on the Hellcat. I think they perform equally well and both have low dust. I think I will stay with the Hawks though when it's time to replace the Jeep's pads here in the near future. I put the Hawk's on the Jeep right when I bought it, same with PowerStops on the Hellcat.

Re: Font brake pads again queston

I switched the brembos out for wagner thermoquiets when the Jeep had around 800 miles on it.

Now at 14k miles and the pads have plenty of meat on them and my rotors arent toast. Mind you I live in Manhattan in serious stop and go traffic.

My WK1 I left the brembos on and at 14k I needed new rotors and pads.

These brakes will easily last till 25-30k with my usage. No doubt in my mind about that.

But as Schleprock said, you will get so many different opinions on this. lol

I put the RB pads and rotors on from Black Opps. Virtually no dust and no noise! Excellent braking!

Re: Font brake pads again queston

One thing to consider is whether you want to slow down or stop the vehicle. That said, the OE pads are probably carbon metallic which dust significantly. They're designed to stop the SRT. Semi-metallic pads would be the second stopping choice. Ceramic pads should eliminate the dusting, but don't have the heat handling rating of the carbon metallic or semi-metallic. The semi-metallic Wagner TQ pads are designed to minimize dusting and stop well.

Re: Font brake pads again queston

What do you care more about?

1. Looking "cool" = get ceramic
2. Performance = man up and deal with the dust
