Absolutely not, the new Ford Explorer has features just like this and that is what made me want the Jeep more then the Ford. I couldn't imagine myself tapping at a screen to increase the fan speed or change where I want it ventilated.

Chrysler's new 8.4" radios feature climate controls via touch-screen, but unlike Ford and others they were smart enough to also include separate hard controls.

I could. That's the same thing everyone said about the iPhone and iPad when it first came out...."I can't imagine typing on a touchscreen" but it revolutionized an industry.

Re: FORGET that little wimpy 8.4" screen

But really, I liked the smaller more lo-key screens. Make the car less likely to be broken into.

Re: FORGET that little wimpy 8.4" screen

that lexus screen is legit.... in 20 years our kids will be driving cars where everything is on a screen of sorts and our "speedometer" will be a thing of the past. Kudos to Lexus for putting out a beast of a screen and making it HD to boot.

That Jeep screen no doubt is sweet but i dont think its as "ahead of its time" as the Lexus screen.

That's true - but the system that is going to be available on their upcoming MY13-vehicles should fix the previous bugs.

The concept behind myfordtouch itself is groundbreaking and brilliant - the problem was that it was launched before it was ready and that it had too many bugs.

However, once these bugs are gone, it will be one of the best systems out there. Chrysler is basically "copying" it with the 8.4" screen.
