Re: Front licence plate

Ironically I am a Yonkers firefighter. I travel the Taconic daily and troopers will pull you over for it. Not that I'm going to get a ticket but I don't need the hassle of getting pulled over either. I'm going to tape it on. Where in Yonkers did you live?

Re: Front licence plate

i own a tuning company in Saudi Arabia , i use 3M double sided tape to install the license plates and it works perfectly well , no sounds especially from the tail gate license plate.
as you know if you bolt them on from the back they do make noises

Re: Front licence plate

I'm not trying to be mean but if I had to install the plate like that I would just drill it. I'd rather have it centered. I'm going to come up with a way to tape it on.

Re: Front licence plate

Front plates are required here in California, but I notice a heck of a lot of cars without 'em. The dealer mounted holders for the front and back plates. Today, was looking through various documents I signed when finalizing my purchase and noticed a form I signed authorizing the dealer to install license plate mounts. They look fine and I'm okay with front plates, though I will remove the dealership name/logo frame when I receive the official plates.

How do you like the altech? Did you get the 400 universal kit? When staring at the front of your bumper and the plate is in the hide position how far down does the contraption take up, 1-2"'s? I'm debating on getting one. Thx.

Re: Front licence plate

I like it. I have had them on my Jeeps since 2010. They arent the greatest quality but altec is the only company who makes it as they hold the patent. Any others are just rebrands. I bought the electric one.

And yea about an inch or two.

Re: Front licence plate

Dealership installed license plate mount feels solid and durable. Years ago, took my then new Durango 4x4 for some mild off-pavement exploring. Returned and noticed front plate and mount apparently remained in the desert.

Front licence plate

Rare earth magnets worked well on my S4. I epoxied four behind the front bumper and four on my front plate.

Made removing the plate quick and no hassling with tools or custom brackets.

Cool thanks. Just ordered one. Does it make a ton of noise driving in the hide position?
