Well, I didnt let it get down to empty, but I'm consistently getting in the 9's now. I don't really get to drive on the highway at all, so I'm sure that's part of it. I could probably get way up in the 10's or 11's if I totally laid off it. :-)

This is the fine print:

Price includes all costs to be paid by consumer except for sales tax, registration, title, and dealer fees. 'Buy it Today' price includes all available offers, incentives, and factory rebates; must qualify for all rebates to receive Buy it Today pricing. Prior sales are excluded.
Doesn't look like a trade value is built in, but who knows..

Re: FYI - One available in NJ at $8,409 discount!

Do yourself a favor an DO NOT buy from this dealership. I bought my 2011 Wrangler from there back in jan of 2011. Had nothing but the worst experience with this vehicle and STEALERSHIP. They are complete A-HOLES here. They don't care about the customer, nor your problems with your vehicle. If you ask me that discounted prices probably has a a ton of stuff in it that you don't qualify for. They did that to me when i got my jeep. As long as i got what i wanted for my trade i could have cared less about the rebates that should have been given to me. Needless to say, November of 2011 after 13 record breaking times , the throw out barring's went after two months along with the compressor which had a hole in it, my pcv valve blew off my truck died, how the hell does that happen. The clutch keep popping out of gear, i got a boot replacement, and then the friggin mechanics who are supposed to know what they are doing started to mess up the interior of my car from f-ing up my shift rod leaving marks all over my glove compartment and passenger door, and a huge grease mark across the top of my soft top. Then i had two soft top replacements after that. Anyway, i ended up taking that POS and getting the cherokee. Best decision of my life. Even the lemon lawyers couldn't get the company to buy back my vehicle. So just be aware of that joint. They are not customer friendly, and love to lie to people just to get them to come in a buy their stuff. Thank you for letting me vent hahahaha.

Re: FYI - One available in NJ at $8,409 discount!

Well for the gas questions. The SRT WK2 has ~25 gallon tank. The window sticker says in bolded numbers 12/18 for city/highway. Look under those numbers, the expected range is city 9-15 and highway 14-22. Driving factors all play a role in mileage. Basically figure 200-400 miles per tank. At least that's been my experience.

Re: FYI - One available in NJ at $8,409 discount!

My guess is that they have the website set to automatically apply the available rebates in that region to the prices of all the respective products in a model line. Therefore, I bet that price is adding all Grand Cherokee rebates from a starting point of invoice (or whatever they have it set at). We all know the regular GC rebates don't apply to the SRT8.

Love them, but I am seeing many sit for quite some time these days.

I've fallen for this dealer trick before.... I went thinking i am going to get a great deal and then they show you the fine print (this is from the site you posted):

Price includes all costs to be paid by consumer except for sales tax, registration, title, and dealer fees. 'Buy it Today' price includes all available offers, incentives, and factory rebates; must qualify for all rebates to receive Buy it Today pricing. Prior sales are excluded.

MUST QUALIFY FOR ALL REBATES TO RECEIVE BUY IT TODAY PRICING.... SO... They tell you that the sale price is based on Employee pricing 1% below invoice, Active military discopunt, ETC ETC ETC..... So the best they can do is X......

Best bet is to know what invoice is, what others are paying. I have a great relationship with my local small dealership and they worked the numbers (on an order) and sold it to me at invoice... slightly under 60. There is no reason to pay sticker (I am taliking about U.S. sales of course).

P.S. People who buy a $60k+ high performance SUV can afford an extra $1 per gallon for gas. If they can't, then they are an idiot who shouldn't have bought a $60k vehicle

I guess you are referring to me. I didnt mean to hurt your feelings by injecting a bit of reality on what this current market holds. It is what it is, and there are always a few "idiots" as you call them that make a stretch to pick up a "specialty" or sports vehicle only to find that its not really worth it to them or they can no longer afford it. The SRT8's will be trading new in the mid/upper 50's by summer Im figuring, which is where they should be. 10% under stcker should be the norm right now, but it seems that the dealers assumed they would have people standing in line for them which is far from the case. The market will adjust in time, just like it does for everything. A 6-8 month old version with 15-20K miles will be trading in the upper to high 40's this fall.

Sounds like you are the one with hurt feelings, because obviously you're self conscious I was referring to you

And I don't know what reality you are in, because nothing you said is happening yet. Oh my God...there are 5-8 on eBay all the time!!! That's an insane amount of vehicles for 2600 Jeep dealerships across the country, with a population over 310 million people! IMO, they should start discounting these $10,000 so they can sell them.

P.S. In the 1.5 yrs so far of the regular WK2 Grand Cherokees, they have only seen a rebate/incentive above $1000 for a VERY short period of time a couple of months ago, and that was only on 2011 leftovers. Anyone who thinks the WK2 SRT8 is going to get some $2k, 3k, 4k rebate, is wishful thinking. Best you're gonna get is invoice minus a $1000 rebate....if they ever let the rebate apply to the SRT8. From what I take from Gilles, they'll cut production before they let these go for $10k off sticker.

Man do I get tired of people bickering about the price tag. For the most part you're gonna have to pay to get a WK2 SRT. I believe it's worth the cost, so do others. There is a lot going on in the WK2, hence the price tag. Some people will get lucky and find a deal, but don't count on it. If you want a good price wait for a used with mileage to pop up. I bought my WK2 SRT new because I plan on keeping it for some time. Plus, buying new makes it my car only. I know the history from day one which is great. I get the joy of getting to know the car from day one. Jeep (chrysler) is stepping up their game and products so you're gonna pay. 60-64k for this Jeep is a bargain for what you get. Enjoy it.

My biggest point. Get wheel time in a WK2 SRT before you knock it. You'll understand it then. I ain't talking a quick test drive either. Run one of these jeeps through its paces and get to know its features. It'll make you a believer. Right now the WK2 SRT is a big boy game. Hell, I'm 26 and can afford it just fine. So step up to the plate for yourself.

That's what I was thinking. In my spirited city driving I usually get 225 to a tank. That's not running it bone dry either. No gas lights on. Gas lights about 3 gallons left IIRC.

Do you always have it in auto stick? It disables the cylinder deactivation then. I could understand that for the bad mileage.

There will be dealers selling them well under sticker and still making money and Im not talking discounts from rebates. They wont let these things sit on the showroom for 6+ months, sorry but they wont. The main problem is they have priced themselves almost out of the market with this new platform. Unless you are a Jeep fanatic, like the very few that are here, you are going to give a few other rides in the same price range a hard look even if they are somewhat higher.

As far as 10K off of sticker like you noted, I said 10% which would be in the 6K range.
As far as that many on Ebay listed at sticker (with dealers having their fingers crossed) this early on EBAY, yeah well the price can only go down from here my friend.
