I'm 28 and have been waiting to get this vehicle until I felt I could make the payments without being worried about it. This past year I got a nice promotion which put me to the income level that I felt comfortable doing it. My wife also makes a great living, more than me by a pretty good amount.

Nothing wrong with the wife making more! My wife almost doubled my income this past year...

Just chiming in to agree with the posts above. It took me over 7 years to work my debt to income ratio appropriate enough to buy one of these. Started from a Wrangler out of college, Cherokee, 2 Grand Cherokees and finally on my 2nd WK2 SRT. Be patient and ensure you are investing your hard earned money in the right things. As much as we love these vehicles, they are still a depreciating hunk of metal.

On the same level as you lmao. I'm 23 as well with a good income but I do regret getting it sometimes and wish I waited a little longer. Was happy with my 04 liberty and could always use the extra money. Deff don't jump the gun yet it's not a necessity.

Someone once said you can afford the car.. But can you afford the up keep.. It's so true now a days on regular vehicles and especially with these high performance ones.. They require a great deal of up keep like most cars.. The way I always look at it is save save save and get what you really want when you can afford it.. I couldn't imagine getting something and having to give it up.. Or default on something.. You also have to plan on "what if". Even though the economy is getting better.. It's still pretty unsettling with jobs and such.. Hell I don't even own an SRT.. But I did a lot of planning before I walked into the dealer to get my 13 GC.. But it's a great feeling knowing that I can live comfortable and not have to worry about things..
