Re: Getting ready to purchase JGC SRT, advice please.

Thank you again for the great advice. Like I said, I haven't really bought a car in ten years, so these are definitely great pointers.

That being said, how does the SRT handle in snow? My main reason for getting it is the a 10 year old G35 is not going to make it out the driveway in the snow and ice we apparently get in CO. Just curious if any owners have had experience in the winter weather.

I find this question is best answered by the Russians, who seem to love the GC SRT.

Enjoy, and make sure to watch the snow launch at minute 44!

Definitely a cool vid! I totally had to jump to the Snow launch! If I get one, there is no way in hell I am doing that!

Hey, that would be great. I was looking into Autonation, Centennial, and even Medved. If you want to private message me your info, that would be great. Or you can email me at russellk22@gmail.com. Did you get an SRT or other model?
Run a quote thru your USAA Auto Buying Service...it was good for 3-4% below invoice for me on an in-stock (non-demo) or ordered '15 SRT $71-72.5k MSRP...

Good advice. I am getting a little confused though. Are MSRP and Invoice used interchangeably? Or do they mean different things? I was always under the assumption that Invoice meant way below MSRP.

MSRP is full "list" price. Invoice price is a creation of the manufacturers and dealers to give the public something to latch onto as "dealer cost" even tho it really isn't. Invoice price is roughly 4.5% below MSRP on an SRT. When a dealer pleads poverty and "I'll get fired if I sell below Invoice" they actually get about 3% of the Invoice price as guaranteed profit (it's called Holdback) from Chrysler. They then also get per unit incentives for meeting their Floorplan bogeys which are both volume and model/trim mix targets which is why we see these end of month/qtr/yr discounts. It depends on the dealer but these days dealers are not getting rich on new car sales margins...it's the financing, service and used car sales.....car sales are like printer sales...it ain't about the printer, it's about what goes in and through it.

Re: Getting ready to purchase JGC SRT, advice please.

Wow, I actually never knew any of that! But the notion of them making money on service is now apparent due to the times I have had to go in for something minor on one of my vehicles, and then came out with a $3,000 bill. I can't even count on one hand how many times that has happened. Are you happy with your Summit? I am debating the 5.7 Summit versus the SRT.

Re: Getting ready to purchase JGC SRT, advice please.

I have always felt the JGC perfectly fit my needs...this is my 3rd since '97, never without one...Absolutely love my 5.7 Summit. Plush, just the right amount of usable tech and with a Corsa Cat-Back exhaust and Volant CAI I delude myself into thinking it is "faster" than it is I shoulda just got an SRT as I just need to have more fun with my ride. As soon as '16 order banks open I will order my Billet Silver SRT with Hi-perf audi, Dual-pane roof, Tow and either black chrome spyder monkeys or this new one, lightweight forged wheels (WRM).....don't expect delivery before end of Feb....

Re: Getting ready to purchase JGC SRT, advice please.

Very cool! Not sure if you saw above, but I moved from the OC out to rural Colorado, so my 05 infiniti g35 coupe isnt going to stand a chance in snow. Just needed something to handle the weather and whatnot. Then I saw the Summit Lines as well as the SRT and fell in love. We will just see how much the dealer is willing to negotiate and how much I have in the budget! I am hoping for a black one with all of the options you mentioned!
