Good deal??

I just test drove a 2012 SRT. Mineral grey, fully loaded (just no rear DVD), certified pre owned, 27,181 miles.

Price - $47,999

I am thinking it is a pretty good deal for a CPO SRT. CPO comes with an added 3 months/3,000 miles to the existing full warranty along with 2 more years on the power train with no additional miles (so 7 yrs/100K).

Thoughts? I am thinking now is a good time to get back into an SRT.

The only thing I noticed was that the adhesive on the right front fender was not holding a too well, but I guess that could be easily fixed.

Carfax is clean with no accidents. One owner that did the proper oil changes.

EDIT - it has Prada SpecX tires that have quite a bit of tread life left on them

Re: Good deal??

I wouldn't pay more than $45,000. CarFax means nothing, my $7000 worth of damage never showed as of 8 months after accident (and one of the reasons I got rid of my 2012 before it did). I got $45,000 I think for my trade in back in December. They ended up eating it and selling it for around $46,476 (they put new Pirelli's on it which ate into that $1476 profit by at least $900, so they may have made $500).

Re: Good deal??

Thanks

Anyone have an AutoCheck accoun that can run a VIN for me. I here they update more frequently and the free report shows 3 "events". That doesn't mean much as my 08 Laredo shows 10 "events" and has never been in an accident. Events probably also equal title transfer and other things.

I think too many miles. Check Cars dot com and do not be afraid to travel to get it.

Re: Good deal??

Thanks again.

Found another CPO with a little over 18K with dealer asking $47,800. Made an offer of $46K. Waiting to hear back.

Stealth - what ever happened with your T-case issue? Did Chrysler pay under warranty? That story you told doesn't give me the warm and fuzy for buying used.

Haha nope that whole ordeal was prob the worst experience I ever had with a vehicle. I will never buy another Chrysler dodge or jeep again because of it. After the dealership denied the claim I had to get my insurance involved. Chrysler did not want to help me with this is at all they stated that the mechanics said that the t case was combusted from the outside not the inside. Insurance came to look at it and said the tcase was combusted from the inside. Now insurance was saying Chrysler should pay for it cause there not going to. This is where I don't understand and from this day never got a straight answer to why it was changed. They decided to send a second insurance guy with more experience to take a look. After looking at it the insurance is now claiming they will pay for it but with a 1000 dollar deductible!!!! After speaking with a lawyer I decided to go with the insurance claim only because this was the 3rd incident one more and it would considered a lemon. With the fees and taking them to small claims court turned out to be not worth it in the long run. I feel like I was taking advantage. Everyone there literally pointed the finger and said nope you did it not our problem. From the service manager to even the higher authorities they all basically said forget him. Btw this dealership is east hills jeep in ny. Keep in mind I had the car for a week before all this bs happened you would think they would try and make things right. Well anyway the car got fixed after sitting at the dealership for a month and a half got it back in November haven't had a problem since with the t case(they knew if this messed up the car would be considered a lemon so they prob made it perfect lol) after a week I picked up my car in November I went to start my car up and noticed there was smoke coming from the engine opened up the hood the belt got destroyed lmaooo I literally wanted have no part with thing after that. After getting the car towed I brought it over to westbury jeep service. Got a new belt and had a very interesting conservation with the mechanic he believed that the belt was tampered with. I've heard story's about east hills actually causing more problems with your car so that they could have more work and more service jobs to get more income. Had my car serviced at westbury have not had one problem since then. I love my car but I'll never go through that again.
