Thumbs down Re: Goodbye SRT experience

This is very frustrating.

I just got a response from their facebook group that said the new program is only for Dodge vehicles. Since the cost of registration is included in the cost of the vehicle, what are the chances of FCA giving Jeep owners a credit towards an extended warranty or something "in-kind"?

The registration has been included in the cost of your vehicle so there is no additional charge (U.S. spec vehicles only). Check your Monroney Label (window sticker) for reference, or call us at headquarters (800-998-1110) to check for you. If you have attended a SRT Track Experience before, your returning fee to drive is $500. If you are attending as a non-owner driver, the fee is $699.

Re: Goodbye SRT experience

Glad I did mine when I did. For those upset, it's a fun time but you don't really get to do anything that exciting in them, at least I didn't. I hit 110 on a straight. Yay.

Re: Goodbye SRT experience

Here was the response I got from SRT's Customer Service email...

"The program will be held in Chandler, AZ only in 2016. After the first of the year dates will be posted to our web site.

Check back with us after the first of the year."

I had asked if there would be a chance of applying the registration fee, which was part of the vehicle cost, to a Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan. Not sure how i am going to make a trip out to Arizona (very different child care than going across the city).

Looks like drive srt site has changed again. I can't find anything on it just being in Arizona unless I'm missing it

Re: Goodbye SRT experience

Folks,

Bittersweet news here. I recently attended my first SRT Track Experience, 5DEC2015 in Vegas, which turned out to be the second to last event the current crew was conducting, after running it for 9 years. While it was an awesome event (even had Hellcats and Vipers, which I was told would not be there), it was sad hearing how it is going to change in the coming year. As mentioned in previous posts, you will no longer be able to enjoy your local track, or different tracks around the country (which I thought was an excellent aspect of the program, and would have enticed me to participate again, had they continued the current program); it is only now offered in AZ with Bondourant. It may be a small point to some, but for a track event the catering was well above expectations which I have been told will no longer be the case; a nice breakfast and lunch was offered, making for a nice day, whereas future plans seem to be BYOC (chow). Also, as previously mentioned, with the new event you only get the first day free and have to pay for the following days if you want to try the Viper or Hellcats. While I honestly would have preferred a little more time in the Jeep (since I don't track mine), it was an excellent opportunity to get to run the Challenger Hellcat and Viper (I think a GTS, definitely not a TA or ACR) around the track and appreciate what they each have to offer. That, and without a doubt, the best part of the day was the hot lap in the Viper with one of the instructors (I went with Ricky). Of all the in-car videos from that day (14 in total), that is the one I watch the most.

My hope is that enough people who completed surveys from the event complained about the changes, as well as enough other people do the same here and other places that FCA/SRT follows, and maybe even they see a significant dip in participation, that they will go back to how it had been done (successfully) the previous 9 years. If they do, I will definitely go again (likely several times), and will go back to being a proponent of the event.

Mike

Re: Goodbye SRT experience

Crap. It's going to be hard to resell compared to the old track experience.
