Re: Grand Cherokee SRT offer...

In my area, Las Vegas, SRT's are selling at up to 30K over sticker, as the dealers claim they are only allotted 2 per year, I over herd a salesman tell a potential buyer that he could buy the one on the show room floor for 89K.....
Buying a specialty vehicle is different from any normal new car purchase....for most cars you can buy them at about $300.00 over factory invoice which is well below window sticker.....but these specialty vehicles the dealers almost always sell at a premium price with their added dealer markups, I think they call them value added pricing......I would say if you can buy an SRT at around factory window sticker price you would be doing pretty good. but if your buying a Jeep GC, other models, you should be looking at the factory invoice, (what the dealer paid for the car) and add about 3 hundred.....Good hunting

Re: Grand Cherokee SRT offer...

One thing in this tread, I think some are confusing or interchanging the terms MSRP window sticker, with Factory Invoice Pricing, they are two distinct things...... Lots of dealers are reluctant to show you the factory invoice on a vehicle, (what they paid for it)....They prefer to work with the window sticker (MSRP)..... I don't know to many who have bought cars well below Invoice, but if you have thats outstanding

Factory Invoice Price is readily available online for a lot of vehicles...especially Jeep. Unless you are just an uneducated dumbass, you should never even let the sticker price or monthly payment enter the car buying process.

Re: Grand Cherokee SRT offer...

Another thing to keep in mind is that its not a perfect comparison on a SRT vehicle versus your (OP) other buys. Not only is it very rare (maybe never) that FCA offers any type of incentives, bonuses or rebates on an SRT vehicle (heck, even employees dont get employee pricing on them!) but dealers are limited to the number of SRT vehicles they can obtain and sell...

Additionally, unless something has changed, most import manufacturers offer the dealers a larger holdback value. Not a huge difference, but that is worth 1 - 3% alone.

I am not saying a good deal can not be found (especially if you buy a 2014 still sitting on the lot), just offering my two cents on your thought process and comparison. Yes a deal can be had, but I am highly doubtful you will find a deal at the level you have found on previous cars...

When I purchased my SRT in November, I visited over a dozen dealers, and spoke with / emailed over 30 more. from Texas to Colorado, Nebraska, Illinois, D.C., Florida and everywhere in between.. That is not an exaggeration, I have the email correspondence to prove it....

Many wanted Sticker or more, not a penny less. Some negotiated almost down to invoice, a few down to invoice but all of those ran away once I mentioned I was hoping to get no less than 2K UNDER KBB value for my trade in.... In the end only 2... TWO out of almost 50 dealers, were willing to work with me below invoice and only one of those was willing to lock in what I considered a fair price for my trade in...

My local dealer wont go for any less than $2k over invoice. This is in San Diego. Is this a crazy bad price? It's on a 2015...

sounds about right. I'm in Rancho Mirage and my dealer would not budge. I ended up buying one out of state.

Re: Grand Cherokee SRT offer...

The document you show, appears to be a copy of MSRP window sticker pricing, not a Factory Invoice for this vehicle...... You can go to a site like Edmunds, and see what the invoice pricing is for a vehicle equipped exactly like this one..

Totally understand this is MSRP. I have just had talks with the salespeople and they are sticking to 2k over invoice. I will definitely triple check this and thanks for the edmunds heads up. They are saying that this thing should cost -

$69,928(invoice)
$74,060(MSRP)
$70,892(True Market Value) - Whatever that means...

Also, do you guys know if ANYONE leases SRTs? Or is that a dumb question...

You can get an estimate on a lease on the jeep website. It's about $20 less than a payment.
