Yep I'm another Aussie on board, can't wait till it gets here. I think so far I will be the only bloke on the east coast with the system.

As soon as it arrives I'm dropping the car off to get it fitted, along with my bwoody intake, fast man throttle body, new brembo cross drilled rotors, ceramic pads eibachs and catch can.

Fark yeah!

Thanks for this.
I read that idle it's even quiter than stock... but the video of this truck reversing, engine idling, it sounds pretty loud already... and JDR8 seemed quite positive the truck in the vid is in "closed" mode.
I was a couple of enquiries away from ordering from Chad, but this video really has taken me a couple of steps back...

I know I am coming through as finicky, and I'm ready to bite the bullet on this exhaust which is in a league of its own, (price-wise too...), but I'd kick myself every day if I end up having to remove it after a week...

To add to my hesitations, it seems our Aussie friends are overcoming their concerns about law enforcement's reactions and are proud customers of the GTHaus company

As far as I know there was/is only one guy who had to remove his due to possible police issues. Don't know if he has actually removed it yet or not, I did ask if he was selling it but no response.

I think the only other one is Aus is motor351 who lives on the other side of Aus to the first guy. Looking forward to his thoughts on it.

Right...
I watched the vid of the matte black truck probably 12 times at work (with poxy headphones where only one ear still works), and was convinced this truck is stupid loud.
Now after posting the above I watched it 3 times again on my Ipad, with my Apple headphones, where both ears are in good working order... and it doesn't sound loud at all when the truck reverses into its parking spot...
I'm sounding more and more like a little girl who's afraid to jump in the pool...

That is because he is probably the only guy in Australia that has it, motor351 has not got his yet.

For the record I love this exhaust. It is without doubt a beautiful thing.....BUT..... in Australia, you will be nicked. It is just a matter of time. Maybe if left in closed mode you may be OK but even if you hit it hard in closed mode you will be over the db limit from what the guy that got caught and told to remove it said.

I really hope I am wrong but we know the hoon laws here are real and enforced regularly. Drive like you borrowed it around the cops.

Good luck boys I am rooting for you and would love to here it in the flesh.

When the weather is nice here (late this week or early next week) I'll get out and do a video similar to this vid with the Jeep accelerating away from the camera in both closed valve and open valve so you get an idea sound wise.

JDR8,

If you could get another stock SRT or maybe one with a Borla and put them side by side in the same vid and give them a rev or two then although the sounds may not be the same as in person it is still a true comparison as far as benchmarking goes.

Just a thought. You may not be able to do this but if anyone can than we will all have a better idea.

Agreed, this would be great. Videos are useful, but perception changes so much from one to the other due to angle, weather, recording equipment etc...

Re: GT Haus Meinschaft Exhaust for 2014 Wk2 Review

After reading both sides for and against the system I still decided to go with the system. Here in Aust the DB level for the SRT is only 83 DB not sure what the DB will be once the GT Haus is fitted.

With regards to the police it is different from cop to cop. My nephew has a 300c with 22in rims and there was a blitz on 300c in Perth and they were pulling any over that did not have standard rims and putting work orders on them without measuring them. So you just have to be unlucky.

Even changing the ride height in the SRT there is clause 2.6 which states

For modification codes contained in this Section of VSB 14, evidence should be obtained either from the vehicle manufacturer or through testing to determine the impact on the ESC system. To remain within the scope of this Section of VSB 14, a vehicle fitted with ESC must not be modified if the operation of the ESC is affected unless the ESC system is adjusted accordingly. Persons wishing to modify vehicles equipped with ESC must contact their Registration Authority for further information and guidance.

Got to love Aust laws.
