That is a no-joke follow-up review for a no-joke exhaust. Thanks to you and Tom, I know I just found my exhaust. :thumbup:

One last question before I start shopping for my go-to exhaust shop. The one thing I seem to be blind to and cannot find or figure out is how this exhaust behavior differentiates between the different drive modes (i.e. auto, sport, track). I know that on the stock system there are exhaust flappers that are being manipulated. I actually never looked to see where those were. Is the Meinschaft exhaust still using that same flapper system or replacing it with their own modulation system? Or is this differentiation now coming all from the engine?

I'll let the guys with the system explain but, I can hear differences in my stock exhaust between modes. I'm sure the sounds are accentuated by this superb exhaust.

I feel like along with different shift patterns, the exhaust pressure created by each mode is different. With a properly tuned exhaust it's probably musical! The gthaus complete system with x pipe removes the flaps. The only mechanical part are in the mufflers that give you the open and closed modes.

I'd like to know what just the axle back portion of the gthaus would sound like as this would keep the factory large suitcase muffler and flaps... I'm a little scared to remove the suitcase as I need the cabin sound to be comfortable on long trips.

I promise if you go on a road trip in closed mode you will not be bothered by it at all. No more than the stock. It's weird this exhaust can be so quite when driving normal. The closed mode sounds like a very classy muscle sound that isn't over doing it at all. It's hard to explain because it really isn't loud if you are just cruising on the highway. If you put your foot down all the way you will know it's there. But if you aren't accelerating like a bat out of hell it's not going to annoy you in the cabin at all. It's a perfect design. Every single one of us should have this exhaust. I promise it'll be the best purchase you make. It truly woke my jeep up and sounds PERFECT. I expected it to sound good for this price but honestly it blew me away.

I don't think it would roar half as good. Those open pipes with no restriction really rips the air through them.

That was what I figured. Being from California I have CARB restrictions and may have to try the exhaust without the x-pipes. It may not be worth the extra cost if I cannot use the system the way it was intended. But I spoke with Chad and he was told that the exhaust would pass the CA Smog test. If anybody has more information on this CA smog restrictions please share.

Re: GT Haus Meinschaft Exhaust for 2014 Wk2 Review

Tom covered all the points as I would have and yes CLStech you're right, the exhaust brings out the differences in the drive modes much clearer. In stock form, you can hear the rpm's change when driving if you switch the dial. The exhaust just makes you more aware.

It is like owning several bad ass muscle cars in ne now. You wake, excited, looking for a reason to drive anywhere.
