Has anyone gone with the Valentine one radar detector and decided to hardware it instead of using the 12v outlet?

I hard wired my 9500ix. Pulled the console and used a couple wire taps to tie into the 12v outlet feeds. Same connection point but all the wires are hidden away and then they run up the a pillar and across the headliner right next to the mirror.

They make mirror tap wire kits for them now but I had the old connections from my wk1 anyway.

Hardwire Radar

Here is one thread...there are a couple more on here and I believe one linked in the above thread...

Super simple install (if you read the threads)...mine has been in over 8 months and works flawlessly! Highly recommend tapping into the mirror: great visibility, can always hear it since it is above ear level and can easily see when it is going off. Win-win IMO all the way around. Process should be very similar for the Valentine, just a different cord/connector (I believe, I am a Passport guy do I can't speak to the V's)

I couldn't tap into the mirror because I use the bluetooth module so I had to hardwire mine in. If you guys are running an V1 without the module you dont know what you are missing. V1 paired with YaV1 on android is the cats meow. Savvy emulation, gps based lockouts, custom ka band sweeps and much more.

Are you looking for switched power? Cause if your not just run the power to the battery under the passenger seat......I'm not sure if all models have the battery under the seat but i'd be surprised if there were different battery locations.
