Re: Headlight Ribbon DRL Activation Kit

Based on your pictures you tapped the below
white w/ blue ( 16 ) --> Headlight Leveling Sensor Rear Signal
white w/ orange ( 6 ) --> Right Front Park Light Driver

These wires can be confirmed on the wiring diagram below... I think it was posted before your experiment. Your sparky may have had some trouble reading the diagram as I would always stay clear of any wires labeled sensor. The only way to get this to work down at the headlight harness are the wire colors and position provided in the instrutions. I cannot think of another location on the vehicle to get them activated. If that wiring connector can be opened and populated you would be good to go.

Re: Headlight Ribbon DRL Activation Kit

That would explain the sensor shitting itself and the error message on your screen.

Looks like you are tapping in the wrong place if I compare the colors with mine. See below, my PASSENGER side (makes me wonder though since your drivers side is on the other side aren't these wires also different, have you guys checked this?).

The first posi tap goes into the first wire and the second posi tap in the third wire (where I put the star).

This issue is coming from the wires needed not being present due to a change in the build. He was trying to make it work by using other wires.

Yea that's right , but if you look at my wires on position 3 white/dark blue mines blocked off . Ah was thinking CLStech of going underneath the car and trying to come up with something with the DRL led strip and hooking into that somehow ? What you think any ideas there

Re: Headlight Ribbon DRL Activation Kit

Even if I put power on manually to the DRL led strips through a toggle switch when I start the car or just wire them up to come on with the ignition every time ? I'm sure I'll find some way eventually

From the wires i have seen down at the bumper LED strips I think those are run via canbus signals. I don't think we can easily mess with those. Even if you could tap into the bumper strips you have no way to get the power up to the headlight ribbons...

Bumper Strip wiring pics below...
