Re: Headlight Ribbon DRL Activation Kit

Guys, anyone in AUS who is after a DRL conversion kit I have 4 sets left. These are genuine DRL kits from CLStech which Connell can verify.

I am not in it to make any $$ just get my outlay back so we dont have to wait so long

My total outlay for 5 kits after conversion was $308.15AUD
So each harness will cost $61.63 + auspost
PayPal preferred or I can CC over the phone or Direct Deposit

Hi iLend,

All the install instructions and doco is at post #1 in this thread.

Others who have installed have said it is easy. I haven't installed one yet as my SRT is to newer build but there maybe a workaround

Headlight Ribbon DRL Activation Kit

I just wish to make a comment here about the CLStech DRL headlight mod , first it's no offence or disrespect to CLStech as he has worked hard on this which works fine for some but not others reason being it seems to me that cars built on march or after march 2014 are missing certain wires in the loom like my car . So people are trying to connect it other wires that look the same colour which are there but are defiantly go a different route. Doing this from experience will break something else in your headlight electrical .

The reason I am writing this is to help other people from doing damage and then having to go back to the dealership and trying to convince the dealership that you never touched your car or you don't no what's going on and trying to get to hide the wiring that you punched holes in with the posi taps . I have already received 2 private emails from members here on jeep garage asking me how to fix the codes on the dash when starting up the car and what part they had damaged and what did I do to fix it , simple I hid the holes I put in the wiring ,then went to a dealer acted like I didn't no what happened ,then they ordered the part , fixed .

And the other 2 members cars were built after march 2014 . Again CLStech DRL mod is sweet as and I am jealous I can't do it on my car but hey thems the brakes, but you have to check your wiring first to make sure you have the same wires and I posted some pics on this topic earlier so you can see where I don't have wires just block off plugs sticking out, so I hope this helps someone before they make a mistake as now there is 3 people who have made a this mistake and it's cost them damage to there car and a trip to the dealer to get fixed and the part that myself and the other members damaged was the rear levelling sensor switch at the back of the car ?...

Thanks Maxy9, when replying to any one interested in purchasing the harness I explicity instruct them to confirm the presence of the needed wires.

I'm hoping to take some time to actually look at the plug that goes into the headlight to see if it can open up and allow us to polpulate the needed wires. Until then if you don't have the stated wires don't try to make this work! No matter how good you think your sparky is! ( friendly shot @Maxy9 )

Re: Headlight Ribbon DRL Activation Kit

Maxy9, good write up, the enquiries I get for the ones I on-sell on behalf of CLStech I state that from March onward is a no go, yet. I have been in conversation with Connell and there may be a solution as I have a June build and once I have no babysitting duties (grand kids) on weekends I will attempt the workaround as I so want the kit as well
