Hey ChrisA:

Thanks for doing the video for all the mates that want to do this mod.

But I would like to point out that the wire with the metal contact can be pushed in from the rear of the plug.

If you look closely at the metal contact it is keyed with a small hump on the top and the hump matches the opening on the back of the plug so that it is oriented the correct way when installing the contact.

So essentially if you get the CLStech DRL kit all you have to do is install the metal contacts directly onto the harness wire from the kit if you were doing a permanent installation.

Once you remove the place holder plug you can put the locking cap back on the connector to position one install the wire from the rear ensuring to was properly seated, then push the locking cap back into the locked position.

(I am not sure if you want to do another video reflecting this)

Just went and tried it, awesome, that will make it easier to install the wire. Thank you for pointing that out

Re: Headlight Ribbon DRL Activation Kit

Just a quick question Chris or CLStech do you disconnect the battery first ? Or leave it connected and just wire it up ? .

All I did was make sure the headlight switch was at O and removed the DRL fuse.

Although always recommended to disconnect battery when working with vehicle electronics, I would say that is not needed in this case. There is no power going out to the headlights with the vehicle off so i think you are safe. Also the wires we are dealing with do not lend themselves to damaging any sensitive components.

Re: Headlight Ribbon DRL Activation Kit

Once I get these plugs I will have a better connection to my drl lights and it will be a lot better than what I got now. My question is will the Drl mod work on a Overland also?
