Re: Help needed in Australia!

I am in the same position. I am waiting on the issue of the VON so we can lock in. However have not been able to view the specs for each model and any options.
Has anyone been able to view an Australian Brochure?

Re: Help needed in Australia!

I asked for a brochure, none available as of yet, then again i did not get one when i was about to purchase a 2013, poor form by the dealers. The problem is that the car has not officially been launched in OZ yet, it's all a bit confusing, i have my dealer telling me we do not have any of the new colours as options nor interior or rims, yet he is asking me to pick a colour so that he can lock in my order.

Re: Help needed in Australia!

I am in the same position as Robo_70 - I have signed the contract and paid a deposit.

I mentioned the books opening at the end of Feb to my dealer but he did not seem to know about this - instead advising that my order is already being lodged with Jeep Australia (as though this is the end of it).

I have made a couple of assumptions based on the information that has been released to date. i.e. colour choice, wheels choice and optional stereo, but I am still awaiting confirmation of what will be available and when.

I don't mind that the dealers don't know pricing, options, dates etc - I was originally going in to purchase a 2013 model that they had on the lot (a cancelled order) when I learned about the 2014 and I chose to wait.

However, I am frustrated at the inconsistent messages - different dealers saying different things at different times.

In the short term, I am looking forward to seeing the first American deliveries and the associated YouTube postings! I saw some footage of the new dash (albeit from a Dart) and it looks excellent!

Yes, Jeep has terrible representation over here. When I ordered a new Porsche back in 2000 I found the process MUCH more professional and refined. Importing a vehicle shouldnt be this difficult. It feels like they want to simply feed vehicles to lots and have them just sell. That's just not going to give them the volume and return customer base they need to really penetrate the market.

Re: Help needed in Australia!

the problem is my friends is that the sales launch for Jeep Australia SRT's has not happened yet. The dealers will not have any info until that happens. You are the .1% of the public that has info from here that even dealers in Oz doesnt have. We just got pricing here in the states and we are still up in the air for a few options.

Re: Help needed in Australia!

Hi guys, first post.

I am about to send an email to the Dubbo dealership re looking to order a 2014 SRT. Feel in love with this car over the last couple of months and got to drive a current 2012 model last week. I am a true FORD fan and have been driving XR6 turbos for the last 10 years which is an awesome car. I was concerned re the size of the Jeep as I have never been a fan of SUV type vehicles but I have to admit this thing is just a beast. So I must have one now.

I will keep you informed on how I go. Cheers

P.S. for those who have ordered theirs what sort of price range should I be looking at. I get the feeling that it may be difficult to negotiate on price on these cars?

Re: Help needed in Australia!

Congrats on the discovery! I've had many cars over the years, and really feel that this is a great car, undiscovered by the masses (which is good). I've already copped a lot of flack from family members who think I'm making a huge mistake here. The egg will be on their faces once they've been for a ride.

Regarding price, I think you'll have a better chance negotiating on a stock item on the outgoing model. Due to the limited numbers, I'm told it is difficult to bargain on these. That said, I haven't really shopped around much, and am interested in hearing to the contrary.

Re: Help needed in Australia!

Hello to all the OZ jeep fans, I'm a new member and have been prowling this forum for a while, the information found here is incredible and most helpful to a newby. I am ready and eager to place an order on a my14 SRT, i think orders can be made now given we are at the end of Feb. My question is, has anyone placed an order and what is available to us here in OZ? I am leaning towards bright white, black vapor wheels, SRT audio and pano roof, does anyone know what the new pricing will be, i did read an article that quoted Clive Campbell, i think he is CEO for Chrysler OZ saying that the RRP would increase to 77k from 76k. Anyhow this is a long winded post, if there is anyone that can provide any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Help needed in Australia!

Hello there,

As far as I know, we can order. I've seen an order form print out at my dealer, so it looks legit. Some features weren't listed at all though, like the wheel options. So we're not sure what we're going to get yet. They might just stick to the vapor/alpine editions again, not sure.

Keep in mind any price increases will no include Luxury Car Tax, which is a rather steep 30% (or so). So a 1k increase in base will result in 1.3k increase in end cost (roughly speaking). I'm expecting a little more than 1k personally, but who knows.

Cheers!

Re: Help needed in Australia!

Thanks Rizzuto, taxes, taxes and more taxes. I think i will pop by my dealer this weekend to see what he knows, i really want to put an order in and get my foot in the door. I do hope the black vapor rims are not limited to the alpine and vapor editions only, i may need to rethink my colour choice if that's the case, to what is the big question .
Many thanks
