Changed my mind and have settled on Maximum Steel

Dealer tells me they are in preproduction and hoping for early July delivery. Emails to follow after tonight and I should get the E number to allow tracking.

Also said they would "buy" the standard rims back if I wanted as I much prefer the black chrome spiders on the 13's.

Please check these with the finance supplier and don't hold me to it. Stamp duty on loan payments not included.

Thanks again for the figures ("I wont hold you to them lol). I will be using it for work as well (wine sales rep) so I claim 93% of costs at tax time.

According to the US Jeep site they are quoting 6.47%!

As I will be keeping the SRT for quite a while i'll see if they have longer terms, ie 6 or 7yrs (should make payments approx $1100 which is what I pay now for an 08 FPVF6X).

Now just got to convince the wife I need it

When I was in the dealer in Jan they introduced me to the finance lady who indicated a rate around 5%. Since then rates have eased .25% so it's possible they might be improved. Finance was through ANZ bank but final rate will depend on individual circumstances. I am a chartered accountant and for some reason the banks give us a small extra discount.

Don't rely on any US rates as the finance situation between the two countries is totally different.

Re: Help needed in Australia!

Wow 5%. I'd be very happy with that. That would easily make the figures fit my budget of $1200/$1300 p/m.

My current rate is 8.9% on $60k. So 5% on $90k + would work no worries

Looks like it helps being an accountant!

Went to Nepean today, spoke to finance lady (Michelle), she says no way anyone gets 5%. Asked some other guy who came by and he said no way either? She reckons anywhere from 7%-11% based on the individual from ANZ/Esanda. So we crunched the numbers of $93k at 8.5% over 7 yrs, no residual, comes to $1530p/m. Salesmen (Grant & Michael) reckon $3k above '13 model price (so with pano, HK and tow $93K driveaway. Now im ok with the price, just need a better finance deal).

They also say approx. delivery is August.

And, they now say White is available.

AND, Jeep Aus has asked for all confirmed orders to be sent to Melb H/O. All orders will be processed nationally from there, but still delivered to individual states etc. So, the ball is now rolling for those that have already ordered.

I will add, both Grant & Michael were pleasant and helpful, they even let me put a cd in the Vapour they had to try the HK audio for myself, sounds excellent!

It could be they were just getting me hooked too. I will have to start organising the finance in June then we will see. Michael is the salesman I have been using. He is helpful and is trying to get the E code for me.

You could look at a 20% residual after 7 years and that will lower your repayments by around $160 per month. Might swing the deal and in 7 years a SRT will still trade for$20K I hope

Re: Help needed in Australia!

Apparently with ANZ I don't have a choice with the 7yr deal, they don't allow residual, but they have the lowest rate.

As I mentioned earlier, the salesman at Castle Hill reckons i'll get less than 7% (their website says they use Jeep Group finance, rather than a finance company/bank).

Just discovered "Jeep Group Finance" is actually Macquarie Bank!

You will always get a better deal going direct to your own bank and via a dealer
The dealer has to get a commission
They don't do it for free you know

All the banks are 8%-14%. Some only give you 5 yrs, and some only go to $80k - $100K. If I get one now ill have about $13K negative equity in my current car, so it takes me from $93k to $106K approx. as much as I hate it I might have to hold off for 6mths or so

Last quote I got from my bank was around the 6% mark. There has been at least one drop since then on the cash rate so ill be expecting under 6 later this year when the vehicle arrives.

If you're bank won't do something like this shop around more. Also try a bricks and mortar broker, they can sometimes break through the crap and give you a good rate straight up.

Don't suppose you can tell me which bank that was? PM if you prefer.

funnily enough, the lady that was doing the finance for that particular day is a mortgage broker (was helping them out for the day). Might call her and see what she has "outside" the dealer network.
