How to remove rear endlinks?

Although I ultimately found out I need to exchange my Black Ops links as there was a issue (guys are great, picked up on first ring on a Saturday and are taking care of it), I started removing the rear swaybar endlinks and found that I want quite sure how to get them past the axle...what's the secret here?

Note I didn't really get after it banging or twisting because I found out I had to reinstall until the new Black Ops links came...Is that all there is to it?

Seriously that's the only way, take off the whole bar? That does not seem easy without a lift and this install is usually touted as easy I thought.

Re: How to remove rear endlinks?

dont take off the sway bar. YOu do have to twist and they will pop out. no banging required. just the right twist and they fall out.

Re: How to remove rear endlinks?

Will I be able to get the black ops links back in the same way though? They are substantially thicker. Thanks for the advice.

Re: How to remove rear endlinks?

Jacks...I know both sides have to be hanging or the bar will be way too loaded to release the link.

Re: How to remove rear endlinks?

maybe a floor jack under the lower arm to put some pressure on it, might slide out/in easier

Too many mods to list for each, so let's just say a lot was done over the years.

Re: How to remove rear endlinks?

you are better doing in on the ground or ramps. No load on the sway bar that way. if your using jacks the suspension is extended and putting pressure on the sway bar. I always done them on ramps or ground and squeeze in.
