HPE Intake Temperature Question on 2014

I've been watching some of the new temp gauges on my 2014 and one in particular is the air intake temperature gauge. I have the Hennessey intake installed and I know it's pulling heat from in the engine bay but I'm wondering what kind of temps are to high?

In NY traffic which is pretty much stop and go and today was in the upper 60s temperature wise, the intake temps were getting up to 150 155 degrees. They would go down to around 111 or 118 once you got moving and if you actually could get up to mid speeds past 50 or 60mph it would drop to the low 100s or 98 degrees.

Are these temps to high and for those of you who still have the stock air box on, do you know what you average temps are in traffic/idle versus hwy speeds?

Just wondering if less cooler air is better than alot of hot air!

It's kinda like a human. The harder you run the more air you breath and you function better. Cooler air makes it easier to breath more air, along with less humidity.

Re: HPE Intake Temperature Question on 2014

With the bwoody my IAT's are on average 15-20 degrees cooler than my stock intake. Ideally would like to get to the same temp as outside like my 08 would but this 6.4 gets hot
