I just ordered one for my SRT and was curious if anyone else had one and had any input about it? I ordered the Injen intake with it and I've already got the Borla S Type installed.
I do believe someone on the red site has given a review on it. He was not interested in being able to adjust the tune at all or have a custom tune done. Just wanted to improve on the stock tune feel. He has said good things about it improved shifting, throttle response etc.
I just installed it in my 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited (V6). Took about 20 mins.
Prior to install, the new 8 speed tranny wasn't thrilling me..
It was slow, slugged and upshifted about 5 times before 40 MPH..
Not a great ride for sure..
Tonight, after the Hypertech Interceptor install, its a totally different car! Shifts are fast & crisp. SOTP feel is there and now, this thing pulls & shifts flawlessly!
No need to go into Sport mode or kill the ECO either..
Feels great now! Throttle is right there as soon as my foot depresses the accelerator!!
Not looking for a world beater, just increased performance, and this certainly cleans up all the lugging from all those shifts... Definitely recommend it..
I installed the Hypertech last night. I could immediately tell there was a difference from throttle response, to the downshifts, to just the overall feel of the Jeep. I lucked out and it got down to about 50 degrees too so that couldnt have hurt any. I'm looking forward to getting my Injen intake installed with it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for relatively cheap, literally plug and play power and responsiveness.
I didn't have time to run any performance tests so once I get some more drive time with it ill let you know. I got it for just over $300 from AutoAnything so not terrible.
Laserman... Ever hear of people frying the ECM after installing the Interceptor? I just ordered it, expecting it this week but Im getting antsy about installing it in my new 2013 GC.
YjagetaJeep - I haven't heard of any such things..I was a little nervous myself at first, but because all it does is plug into 3 sensors under the hood and work with the ECM, I was pretty confident in it.
Doesn't the hyper tech module work in conjunction with the stock ecm? I don't believe it touches your stock tune. I had one on my Durango and all I did was pull it off before I took it to the dealer.
