Re: I went and did it

Is $3500 off MSRP the going rate these days?

Re: I went and did it

Well I went out again last night in the cooler air, put it in track mode and pulled a 4.9 That made me feel a lot better. I dont know if 3500 off sticker is that good of a deal, I suspect some folks here have got a better price than that.

Re: I went and did it

Track mode definitely makes a sizable difference! Saved me a few tenths.

Re: I went and did it

I attained 4.6 secs in Auto mode by just stomping on the pedal. No skill required. I did add a AEM drop-in air filter which seems to improve throttle response.

Im hoping I see that once it gets broken in. I found another body issue on mine. The top dead center of the drivers front fender flare has pulled away from the body....dang 3m tape. I cant believe there is this much stuff on the truck sticky taped together. I hope my local "techs" can fix all these body issues properly and in one visit.

Re: I went and did it

I also have the same front passengers side fender issue. It pisses me off. According to my dealer this issue was one of the main issues that was holding up the release of these jeeps. They obviously didn't fix it. Matter of fact i was at the dealer last week and of the five they had, three had the problem. I mentioned this to the service manager. Mine is going in next week and will hopefullu be fixed once and for all. By the way congrats on an awsome vehicle.

Thanks CMK. Well mine has a build date of May this year, so it seems they are pushing these things aside until they can get a positive fix for them. I dont get it, my driverside is held very tight and flush while the passenger side seems to have no clips or anything that would hold it. I can fix it myself, but I would have to pull the wheelwell liner and possibly the headlight. I will try and snap a photo tonight.

Re: I went and did it

I called the SRT hotline to get some part numbers for the tow hitch, the wiring harness and the new hitch cover. I talked to a guy there that said he would call me back. Well he did. He said the SRT8 isnt offered with a trailer hitch. I was dumfounded and almost asked how the F he got his job. I did tell him whoever he got his info from didnt know what they were talking about and maybe both of them should expolore the SRT line more because they obviously dont know much about them. I just love people that know nothing about their line of work. This is one thing I hate about buying something new. It seems you always know more about the product than the salesman, but a talking head of the manu's special division......come on Giles, hire some people that will have passion about your product!

I payed 1K over invoice which ended up being $61,695. I ordered mine 8 weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped. How long dose it take to put one of these things together?
