Idle drone or resonance

Hi all.

Just got my new 2014 srt down here in oz.

Just getting used to it. I'm going through what I call the familiarisation period of my new car and trying to figure out the idiosyncrasies and noises, trying to work out what is normal or not. Lol

Now.... One little thing is annoying me. There seems to be a drone or some kind of resonance at idle. Goes away if I blip the throttle. And then settles in again. Idle rpm is definitely not high. Almost like an mds drone but at idle. Has anyone got this and is it normal or is my exhaust got something stuck in it as that's what it sounds like.

Drives normal. Transmission is beautiful. No cruise control gremlins. No unconnect problems apart from the annoying srt pages going missing occasionally. No other unusual vibrations up to 110 kmh. No loose or misaligned panels or plastic.

Can't say I have noticed it.
Definitely drones when cruising with the MDS activated though

Try removing the stock crimp from the exhaust. That helped on my 13 and 14 a ton believe it or not.

Re: Idle drone or resonance

So do you get a bit of resonance at idle too?

What is an exhaust crimp and wtf does it do before I remove it??? Pics perchance?

Never paid any attention to be honest...but i did notice after removing the crimp none of that highway mds noise.

Crawl under your beast and have a look at the exhaust...you'll see the crimp
