Insurance Premiums

WTF?????

Anyone else notice their premiums on the WK2 SRT going up over the past years?? I have a spotless record (knock on wood), three cars, no eligible children, and a home all with the same company and my premium on the SRT went up approximately $50 for last 2 payments ($100 for the year, I pay every 6mths). I just got my notice for the next 6mths and it went up another $53. If that hold consistent the next 6mth installment, that will be an increase of $200 in 1.5yrs. I'm up to $1200 a year for the Srt now. The Hellcat is cheaper!!!

I'm guessing it is due to the fact there are a lot Grand Cherokees on the road now (A lot of claims) and the info in the news about shifter problems and airbags in cars.

State Farm

Have had them since I started driving and my premiums and service have always been great. Part of me also may think that since state of residency matters, perhaps I'm just another case of Maryland gonna Maryland.

Re: Insurance Premiums

I just switched to State Farm, Allstate put me in there gold club without my knowledge. Had Allstate for years and started shopping around and actually got a good deal from State Farm. I pay almost double what your paying. No accidents, no tickets.. It's because I live in the city " philly" that our rates are high. There are a lot of reasons they can give you to justify the increases. From Crime in your area to the weather. If you do shop around and cancel your policy have everything in writing and dated "email" and hold on to it. Allstate said they never received my cancelation notice and tried to collect money they said was due. Luckily I saved everything and forwarded my original correspondence to them. Still no apology.

Re: Insurance Premiums

I am paying about the same on mine. Its more than likely the company taking a rate increase compared to you or the vehicle raising it up.

I pay yearly and insurance went up 130 bucks from last year for 2 cars, one being the srt. Hartford said due to insurance costs going up in my state and and their cost of claims whatnot. Basically MN has bad drivers and I'm footing the bill.

Re: Insurance Premiums

I find that odd. The Jeep is registered in Manhattan and I pay 1200 per year through Geico.

Hasnt gone up or down in years since I got the WK1 SRT in 09.

Re: Insurance Premiums

Mine went down. I bought a little convertible and listed that as a daily driver and changed the jeep to a weekend vehicle
