Interior Durability - Black Leather/Suede vs. Laguna Sepia Leather

I am trying to determine which interior I want to order and to be honest I like both the black and the laguna leather. Obviously they are both two different looks and feels, so for me it comes down to ease of cleaning and durability as I will have a little bmrisko in the back. Looks aside (I know some of you are anti-Sepia), which interior should technically hold up better and be easier to clean as time marches on?

I would think the Laguna leather. I have the black suede in mine. Tough to clean up if anyone gets sick in there. With twins in the back for me...

I bought mine before Laguna was available though.

Re: Interior Durability - Black Leather/Suede vs. Laguna Sepia Leather

Sorry to jump in here fellas - but a workmate who owns a WK1 SRT , from 2012 I think , has the leather & suede black
He has white sweat marks all over the suede due to the high temperatures we have down in Western Australia , it regularly gets to 40 degrees celcius plus during summer and for long periods of days
The cooling system in the seats hasn't mattered at all , and he hasn't been able to entirely remove them despite having a Protection Pack done before delivery
Go the Sepia for sure and get a protection pack done as well

Re: Interior Durability - Black Leather/Suede vs. Laguna Sepia Leather

I know the sepia wipes clean with ease, just a wet cloth. I have had mine since October 2013 and 23K miles.

not totally against the black/suede but my experience with the sepia laguna leather has been all good so far.

Re: Interior Durability - Black Leather/Suede vs. Laguna Sepia Leather

I have the black interior and wish I would have gotten the laguna, it's the only thing I'm unhappy with on my Jeep. Not a big Alcantara fan (or whatever they want to call it), it's a cloth interior to me and doesn't look fitting. I'd definitely get the laguna if I did it again, it was the only option I didn't get and the one that I wish I would have. I went to the SRT Track day and drove a 300 with the laguna interior and it just smells good and looked like it would hold up better than the black. Ideally, I wish they would have just made all black leather seats. The leather on the side of the seats feels cheap to me as well and doesn't look like it's going to hold up well over time. Just my .02

Agree 100%. I don't care what anyone says, not going full black leather is ridiculous. Atleast have it as an option for God sake Jeep.

Sorry, rant over.

Re: Interior Durability - Black Leather/Suede vs. Laguna Sepia Leather

leather with suede/alcantara is classy IMHO. It also grips you in the seat better during heavy cornering. Not that the sepia doesn't either...but in my experience the suede combo does it better. I have the black with wife and 2 kids....one who is all boy playing baseball, basketball and football...still looks brand new after 9600 miles.

Re: Interior Durability - Black Leather/Suede vs. Laguna Sepia Leather

Thanks for all the feedback guys...I ended up going with the Sepia. I really liked the Alcantara headliner and my 2012 had the saddle, which I loved. The Sepia is pretty close in color, so I'm sure I'll love it and it will hold up well. Now for the long wait...

Re: Interior Durability - Black Leather/Suede vs. Laguna Sepia Leather

I had a '14 with the leather suede and drove it for 18k before trading in and the seats still looked like new. The sepia was not available when I got mine. I miss my SRT, so I am ordering a '15 this week. I went by dealer to look at the sepia in person and it looks way to orange for my taste. The feel of it was great though. I would suggest seeing it in person if you have not already. I am ordering the exact same truck I had minus the cd player and I am getting 5 more hp, woohoo! At least I am getting a better deal on the 15'.

Re: Interior Durability - Black Leather/Suede vs. Laguna Sepia Leather

Yeah, it is a bit too orange but I think they were going for a more wild look. Tan would've been too normal and meh. Have you seen all the color options for the new Challenger Hellcat? Very nice.

I have the Sepia and am amazed out resilient it is. I thought it would scratch easy. I had my dog jump up into the car by accident a few weeks after owner it and I was freaking out that she scratch the leather with her talons. No a scratch. She still rides in the cargo area just to be sure.

Eventually I'm going to swap the passenger and driver seats, just the bottom to even out the wear of the leather though.
