Good article. Would be interested to see what the Jeep SRT would do on the same track.

If you've followed the wk2 srt jeep from the start...the 4.8 0-60 time was from 2011 when they tested the 2012 jeep srt. Same times as then. Nothing but a fluff article.

Also, it's BS that the Durango is only 6 lbs heavier than the Jeep. According to the official press release, the curb weight of the Durango is nearly 400lbs heavier than the Jeep; not nearly as impressive as this article claims.

Although, I played around with the 0-60 times on my Jeep the other day and could only get a best of 4.8 seconds, so what do I know? (maybe because I have all season tires?)

It's also winter and you are in Canada, so it's a real winter - COLD!

Try again in the summer, you'll do better

Actually his and our times will go up in the summer. Cold air is denser vs hot air

I believe there is a range of optimal temperature and while a hot summer day is too hot, a cold Canadian winter day is too cold.....

I did 4.5 today at 30 and the tires even broke loose a little. Normally they don't.

About 60-70 is optimal imho for temp.

Re: Is the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT actually faster than the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT?

I tried a few runs at -30F and the jeep feels really quick. The problem is the all season stock tires are so hard they spin through all of first and into second. It happens so quick I let off out of fear of damaging the driveline. But feathering the launch to minimize spin nets a 0-60 avg of about 4.4 seconds.

On the other hand, I have hit 4.1 without spin in 20F.
