No offense, but I've been reading this rumor for the past year and still don't believe it. Where did it even originate anyway? Here's what I believe will happen:
No supercharged 6.2 on the wk2 platform. It makes absolutely no financial sense for FCA to put the hellcat engine in a 2018 model wk2 Jeep when the next year's model will be a complete redesign. The new 2019 redesign will have the supercharged 6.2. Not sure if the 6.4 will also be available. I know another minor refresh for the Charger is suppose to happen for the 2019 model. However, a completely redesigned Charger/300/Challenger is slated to be released in 2021 or 2022 (Challenger on a different, smaller platform than the Charger. To be honest, I think the 300 may be done after this generation with the Chrysler brand as a whole going extinct. With the 200 now done, Chrysler currently only has the 300 and Pacifica in their entire lineup). When the newly redesigned Charger is released is when they may switch the 6.4 to the twin turbo v6 but the supercharged v8 or some variant will be around for some time as the top dog engine. Where's Resumespeed anyway?
