as Jeep SRT8 forum participants to find out what the hold up is?

We could have Scott write a letter/email to Cryco. asking them, as the representative of 1000 JeepGarage members and ordering customers, for an explanation of the delay and to get an answer of when production will start.......

I am excited as anyone else who has WK2 SRT8 on order, but I also need to know if I am going to be able to own it while I am still young.......:)

Just a thought.....

For what it is worth, I spoke to a Sales Rep yesterday and mentioned that I understand from the Forums that the SRT8's are on Hold, and he said he wasn't aware of that. He said that he just recently placed an order in the ordering system, and it took the order. He said if they were on hold, the system would not have taken the order. I dont' know if that is how their system works...just throwing this out there.

BostonDMD, not to add insult to injury but since I assume you ordered the tow pack to tow your race car I think that's one of the things that may delay your order. Seems that is now listed as late availability and others on the WK2 section have commented their dealers can't even place an order with the tow package. Looks like a supplier issue if it effects all versions.

The one that I ordered at the beginning of July was originally for dealer stock. They tried to switch it to be my personal order and it would never take it. I have now recieved a call from the dealer saying that it has now accepted the change. So maybe it was because they were on hold and now they aren't? I sure hope that's the case!!!! I'm ready for this thing to get built!!

I just found out my dealer CANNOT get an SRT at all...but theres a dealer on facebook claiming he has 12 on the way! How aboiut that ChryCo?

I saw this too, I can't help but think they are full of it! They started off saying that they had six coming in next week, now that number has jumped up to 12. At least I hope they are full of it, that is a major screw up if they can get 12 dealer stock and an already sold built to order Jeep can't be produced!

My dealer said, his rep told him NOT TO ORDER DEALER STOCK as they won't be honored until commited sales orders are fullfilled.
Maybe that dealer took in that many orders and now they have cancelled, he's keeping them for stock.

Got two emails from my dealer today. One stating that they raised the price even more. The Luxury Group and Audio both were increased. Since my order was placed before August 10th, I shouldn't be affected. The second email said my ship date is Sept. 19th!

All got an increase, but the 300 and Challenger were within a "typical" range. Charger got the second highest to the Jeep, something like $7-8k.

Called my dealer today and told him I need confirmation that he will be able to get the jeep. He said he had his rep wright a letter to his boss.
Also asked about the price he went to check and the price was not there but told me went to BX status but I was in Bx and went back to BG. Would any body know if BX means a good thing.

"As long as your order was placed before August 10th you are price protected. Customer name MUST appear on the factory order to get price protection."

I put my name on an SRT8 that my dealer had already ordered in June. I gave him a deposit and my name shows up on their system next to a specific Black SRT8 w/ vin. I didn't "personally" factory order it. Am I still protected???

Subject: SRT8 Grand Cherokee Pricing Announcement

Reaction to the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 has been overwhelmingly positive. Its unique craftsmanship and superlative powertrain have catapulted it past its closet competition. Our most powerful Jeep ever, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 runs from 0-60MPH in 4.8 seconds with the all-new 6.4-liter HEMI V8 estimated at 470HP and 465 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain performance is only further complemented with the head-turning racing style and outstanding ride handling attributes. Given this level of performance and style, the value proposition remains extraordinary as compared to European competitors offering products with MSRP’s starting at $85,000.

Dubbed the “Ultimate Performance SUV”, we are committed to exclusivity by restricting our production to exactly 3,800 vehicles for the 2012 model year in the US. We realize demand is likely to exceed this production number but we are serious about protecting the Grand Cherokee SRT8's value in the short and long term. Furthermore, take rates on both the Luxury Group II (AHN) and the benchmark performance of the SRT High Performance Audio system (AJE) from Harman Kardon have remained exceptionally high.

Both options are now automatically included with every order. In addition, the following pricing actions are effective August 10th, the Luxury Group II will have an MSRP of $4,495 and the SRT High Performance Audio system will now have an MSRP of $1,995.

Bona fide sold orders obtained by you prior to August 10th will be price protected provided that:

THE CUSTOMER NAME APPEARS ON THE FACTORY ORDER PRIOR TO SHIP DATE (KZ); the vehicle is delivered to the ordering customer within (10) calendar Days after being received by the dealer (X date) and the sale is reported to Chrysler Group LLC under the DealerCONNECT system within 2 calendar days of the sale.

You must claim price protection by inserting the price protection program number on the Exception Claim Entry Screen when reporting the sale. Use program number 27EC1.

Good Selling,

Boy...I wish you had forgotten to exclude his email address. I'm sure there's a few people who wish to comment on this price increase direct to RG himself.

Jeep can't just jump into this apple to apple comparison. You have to build up a reputation first. You just don't slap a number on there and claim to be there!

exactly, it's only a $2500 increase for those already ordered and in the queue.
