I only live 2-3 miles from work....but I only work 14 days per month

scott are you going to take the chrome off the rings down below??? if so how??
yes....scotts paint and performance here on the forums is painting a set for me right now.

I use painters tape and tape off all around the chrome so not to mar the paint. These I use trim sticks that will slide under the chrome piece on the side closest to the acc module and release the clips...I think there are two on the side and two on each side of the chrome piece. Just work your way around it till it comes off. Its really easy.

Dang! Yalls work a lot of hours and weird shifts! But right on! More power to yalls. I wish I could find a damn job!

Scott!! you watering the grass yet? Lol!!!! I know I know I'm hung up on that grass. Can't help it... purty house with purty Jeeps must have purty grass to match! That's my logic, I'm a girl! Haha!

And did you plasti dip the Jeep yourself or you got it done by the professionals? Looks great! I'm thinking about making a change to my front grille.

Weve had some rain so it is already looking better. Not bragging but I have the best lawn in all of my neighborhood. I work just as hard on it as I do my Jeeps. I let a friend cut it...and he went WAY to short. I usually cut it to 5" and he cut it less than 3" You can see the effects. Ill never make that mistake again....LOL. You can look through some of my pics and see how nice the lawn really is. Its gonna take some time after that butchering...LOL.

Only part I have plasti-dipped is the roof rails. I did that myself....its super easy. I put 5-6 light coats and then 3-4 coats of glossifier. I don't like it...but its just temporary until my painted rails come back from paint.

Wow! Looking good. Love the Gen1s and blacked roof! Looks amazing!
thanks bro!

A quick curious question.... Scott do you feel like a celeb on this forum? Serious question! (Otay with a little giggle on the side but not poking fun I promise)
not at all! Should I? LOL:D

Great job Scott!! Looking good as usual. Getting rid of the chrome makes a HUGE difference. One reason I love my wifes R/T "D". No need to de-chrome...lol

yep...you lucky dog. My wifes Durango was the same. it was no fun though....LOL

Sorry to "hack" your thread... when I tried to order a 2014 white SRT8, the dealers were like, '14 SRT8's are not " 'orderable' and will never happen for a price below $68k with double pane roof and premium audio...so you gotta buy one of our existing models on site." Their current models are marked up to $75,000.

Why so high and why not orderable? I'm guessing the '14 SRTs are not in full production yet?

Oh yeah, got frustrated so we placed an Audi SQ5 on order :p

I will answer this on Scott's behalf... Your dealer was a turd and tried to steal your money. There are lots of people here who have ordered the 2014 SRTs. When your Q5 shows up you should race a SRT though, it spanked the Cayenne!

LOL ... right on. I just called the other dealer and they said they cannot order '14 SRT8s "at this time." I am assuming its on some hold till August. The $72-75k markup is just ridiculous. Their lowest priced SRT is $69k.

Washington state tends to have higher auto costs conpoared to other states, but how much is usually paid for a SRT8 with the double sunroof and premium audio?

I would not race the SQ5 against the SRT. SQ5 is a V6T going at 5.1 on the 0-60...so not as fast on the drag, but maybe faster slalom :slapfight:

There was a hold on orders, not sure if it has been released but I would say by the ones in our order track that they are still being built for order.

I know more about dealers than I know about the SRT, wait for Scott on that as he know more on the subject than anyone and has contacts with SRT directly so he can provide better answers on distribution.

Fair enough, thank you. The other issue I need to address is if i purchase the jeep elsewhere, how will I find a good jeep service department that would work with factory and dealership warranty services.

allocations of SRT's may be full. You will probably have to wait for next allocation. If you put an order in....if this allocation is full....it will be added to the next. BUT...find another dealer. Go to driveSRT.com and search for an SRT certified dealer in your area. ANY dealer can service your SRT...but I would stick with the certified dealers.

Thank you Scott. Sounds like the dealer I went to hasn't been honest. He said he cant order now and should buy the cheapest for $69k ... then i came back and said well can it br ordered later, he responded I may need to wait till next year (assuming he meant next allocation). I don't believe it should be that long??

I went to the jeep.com site for 2014 and put in the options I wanted and it gave me $67,000 with sunroof and Harmon. Don't care for performance seats, wheels or tow.

Approx how much should I pay no more for?

#181 ·
nope...next allocation is August....

anywhere around invoice is a really good price and doable if you find the right dealer. Check out the 2014 SRT info sticky for invoice pricing etc.

Thank you Scott.

I went to Rairdon's in Kirkland. The Monroe one seemed more compliant and autonation as well. Autonation has some good deals as they can transport jeeps nationwide (nationwide dealer). Rairdon was horrible.
