K40 Installation

Just curious if anyone out there has had a K40 radar detector / laser defuzer installed in their SRT8. I am considering doing this and interested in what others have to say.

Mongoose9400 is an unknown quantity at this point
A few have done Passport 9500ci, so similar type setup. Haven't seen a k40 specifically. I haven't looked at their latest offerings, but in the past I wasn't really impressed with them or the reviews.

Re: K40 Installation

The new product is the K40 RL360i . It has both front and rear sensors. Installation is a fairly extensive project. Currently, I have the dash mounted 9500. Want to declutter things.

Re: K40 Installation

These are good, but Virginia State police can detect these. That's why I didn't get one.

Re: K40 Installation

I had a passport SR7 installed in my 2007 SRT8. Though it did give off quite a few false positives, it saved my bacon on more than one occasion. When I put that vehicle up for sale earlier this year I thought that the device would be a big selling point but no one seemed to care. I have a 2013 SRT8 on order and I am having the dealer install a Passport 9500ci.

Re: K40 Installation

I actually have the K40 Calibre dual radar / dual laser diffusers installed in several of my vehicles. The install is simple. The devices are Bluetooth. The front and rear radar detectors just require power and ground. The laser diffusers have 3 wires that tie into the control module. You can flush mount the two LEDs in the switch bank and the system is controlled from a remote keyfob. I am currently selling my extra complete system as described above. I have this same system in 3 other vehicles and it is great.
