Keyfob range on 2014 WK2

Just wanted to share my extreme praise for the range of the factory keyfob for the 2014 WK2. It is actually quite impressive compared to other factory remotes. The only thing that would make it better is 2way communication. Maybe just a led/vibration to confirm a lock/unlock/remote start... Or just the current status of the vehicle. Guess I was spoiled by my previous aftermarket alarm.

Again... Kudos to jeep for excellent range on the keyfob!

Re: Keyfob range on 2014 WK2

Have you used the UConnect app? You can lock/unlock, remote start and it sends you a text to confirm that the command went through just like you are wanting. I use mine all the time especially walking out of a football game...its nice and warmed up by the time I get to the ride.

Yes, but it is way too slow. And just like the remote doesn't provide feedback of the current status of vehicle. So with all uconnect doesn't live up to the keyfob itself is great.

My app starts the truck in less than 2 minutes. Not bad really since you can be anywhere

Nice! Hopefully my time will increase as well. I guess my only feature request is real time status of the vehicle.

That would be cool! Like if it showed you what doors were open or how much fuel was in the tank.

Exactly. No complaints though I am content with what is provided for now.

Saudi.SRT8 is a name known to all
Key fob has a great range, except when it's in the same pocket as my old iphone 4 .... Can't open - close the car with the touch of my hand or even do it by clicking the fob when its inside the pocket .

Noticed that as well... Seems like my Nexus 4 blocks communication when in the same pocket. Not a big deal, but interesting anomaly.

Re: Keyfob range on 2014 WK2

I've noticed that the panic button will have a range of about 2-3 miles, especially after 11pm and before 7am but only when the fob is in my pocket.

The door unlock and hatch buttons will have a range of about 3-4 inches, but only when raining and when my hands are otherwise full of groceries or something heavier than about 50 lbs.
