License plate frame

Hey all, so this seems silly, but as everyone knows the rear of the jeep only has two mounting holes for the plate. I got a wide bottom plate holder but it covers up my registration sticker and I don't want to get pulled over for something silly like that. Without a frame, does everyone just leave the two bare holes in the plate exposed and empty or is there something that would "plug" them up without drilling?

Re: License plate frame

Punch or drill holes in the plate and mount it right on there, no holder needed...

No no sorry I meant that the jeep only has two holes drilled in the back, so frame or no frame there will be two empty holes at the bottom
of the plate that are "empty" or unused. So was looking to cover those up or plug them. Might hack the end off two screws and epoxy the screw head on the plate possibly.

Re: License plate frame

That's what I did. used those expansion pieces you put in drywall to hang pics. Hacked off the backs and done.

Re: License plate frame

Wait, am I reading this correctly; people are worried about the "look" of their license plate on the back because the bottom 2 holes aren't used? Seriously, who cares? Trust me when I tell you that 99.99999% of the people who look at your vehicle don't even notice it.

I'm a freak and I notice it, so I don't really care what anyone else thinks about it I'm doing it for my own pleasure.

Re: License plate frame

Why not cover the holes with small adhesive add ons such as reflectors?

That could work. I like the frame I bought and it covers them but it also hides most of my registration sticker. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1399561003.070809.jpg

First world problems right? LOL

Re: License plate frame

Here's a pic of the black plastic bracket I use on all my vehicles. The plate slides into the bracket. It adds rigidity so the plate doesn't flop around in the wind or car wash, and it covers the sharp edges of the plate to prevent nicks & cuts when hand washing the vehicles. The bracket blacks out the two lower holes flush with the plate.

Not cheap, but wouldn't this work for your issue?

Re: License plate frame

I got the Clear Cover. ClearCover License Plate Frames by WeatherTech | WeatherTech.com

Hides the holes and stays firm with just the 2 screws.
