Late last month prior to my vehicle arriving I did some research on this topic. At that time SRT models were not eligible for the Lifetime coverage max care contract. I took a quick look today and it does not appear that the exclusion is noted on any of the documentation available on Jeep.com. I would find it strange that they would suddenly be willing to cover those models unless they jacked up the price. I did end up purchasing a 7/100K Max Care warranty for the SRT8 when I picked it up. I didn't think that the Finance manager was going to let me out of his office without buying something! I was almost certain that I was going to purchase an extended warrranty so I went ahead and helped them make a little more coin on my purchase, although, to thier credit they gave me no trouble over price protection and got me financed a half a point lower than I could do on my own (I even called the same bank and asked for the best rate)
I bought 7 year, 85,000 mile on mine, I paid something like $1600 extra for it (but thats a family discount)
I paid right around $2,200 for the 7 year / 100K max care. I know that I could have gone to one of the dealers who sell them online but I was ready to get the purchase completed and already planning on buying it anyway. Probably could have done about $250 better by buying online. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, the dealer honoring our orginal (without the threat of lawsuits, media, or some other arm twisting) agreement and the outstanding financing made it much less of an issue for me.
