Lionhart LH5 tyres 305/35/22

Looking for a new set of 305/35/22's as a lot of people are now the Vreds are gone and apart from the Pirelli's which are $700AUD each I have just come across some Lionhart LH5 305/35/22 which are $230AUD each. I understand they are a Japanese tyre and while I know you get what you pay for has anyone run these or have any details on them for our beasts?

From what I have seen online, they are not well regarded. You do not want to cheapout on tyres as they are the most essential part of the car for safety.

Re: Lionhart LH5 tyres 305/35/22

Apparently the Lexani LX Twenty also come in 305/35/22

Obviously won't be as quiet and smooth as the pirelli's but it's good that we are starting to see more options in the size!

Question what makes you so certain they won't be as quite and smooth as Pirelli's? You've had a bad experience with that brand?

Re: Lionhart LH5 tyres 305/35/22

No but there is a reason the pirelli's cost more than double for a set... You get what you pay for with tires. There are no shortcuts about that. I can notice the difference immediately on my previous vehicles with cheaper tires when I switched to these pirelli's from nokians

Will the lexani's be a good value for how they perform? They could be but you can't expect the same ride quality as a Michelin or Pirelli.

Would I try the lexani's sure I would give them a shot. But typically they will be harder to balance, have higher road noise, and ride stiffer than a high end tire.

Only time will tell.. I never like Perilli's.. It's over priced cause you are paying for the name in my opinion. Now if Michelin makes a 305 am all over it

There's a reason exotics ferrari's and lambo etc come with pirelli's or michelin's you are not "paying for the name." They are simply higher quality products. Period.

I don't mind off brand tires for cheaper prices. I like having the option to choose to compromise on ride quality characteristics to save some coin if needed. But there has never been a cheap tire that performed better than the real deal and that's just the facts.

Man this has me excited. I hate Pirelli, but as others have said, I'm not going to cheap out on junk tires. I know waaaaaay too much about private label manufacturing to risk that. <--what I do for a living, sort of.

God I hope this Michelin comes out. The worst part about the FIAT/Chrysler merger was the Viper going from Michelin to Pirelli. Michelin is hands down the best tire company (overall) in the world.
