The newer Redline is mine, I got the redline because it was her choice and she wanted me to put the wheel package on it like yours. She drives the 2010 SRT8, but it looks like we'll be needing a Durango soon with another little one on the way so the 2010 will probably go.

Re: little disappointment with my Jeep SRT family

I agree as to the price of the jeep puts it in a different demographic, to me it does seem to put it in with the bmw's, range rovers, you get the idea. I dont ever see these modded, they leave them stock usually. In fact, most of my friends when I told them what I paid for the jeep, said you could have bought a used range rover for that price. That was never gonna happen! After my 08 SRT I'm stuck on these jeeps. Its a great family car, track car, weekend car, party bus etc. Can't imagine pulling up to valet in anything else, I love the looks cuz most valet guys just know what it is and I usually get those spots right when you walk back out its sitting right in front for all to see. Anyway, I see A LOT of ladies driving this platform, in fact I think I'm the only guy driving one in my city, all I see is women. All are stock except 1 has a borla. Other than the guys and girls on here, the ones I see out and about are stock. So it seems since most don't want to change a $70k stickered suv. Now me, I am modding. Slowly but got other things going also. I just turned 31 got married last sept. my prioritys are just starting to change. I'm trying to fit everything into the budget instead of just modding the jeep. I want to fix up the house, we are talking about starting a family, we want to travel more (headed to Hawaii end of this month, wife has never been on a plane so that should be fun) I have also just started having work done on my right arm to get my sleeve going which I have wanted forever. Now I don't know if everyone fits into the same category as me but it just seems to be a combination of everything. I think chrysler did a good job from the factory as well so I'm not in a huge rush to change how it looks, there are thins I still want aesthetically so chad you better not stop making the front diffuser and grill rings or rear brow....

Re: little disappointment with my Jeep SRT family

I've done as many mods as I can, shy of carbon hood and carbon lip, really. I've been in contact with RIPP regarding their Vortech SC system, I was told it'll be ready in 30-90 days and I'll possibly grab one this summer.

I'm buying a new home and I'm not as young as I once was so i don't go for the murdered look myself. My wife is a part of my decisions, in that she would like the vehicle to look classy so I'm trying to keep things sleeper.

Next spring I'll be taking delivery of my Challenger "Hellcat" (the real car engine isn't called the Hellcat, Confederate Motorcycles owns the parent on the Hellcat name - thus why the quotes) so money wise.. I'm pretty much into the SRT brand and then some. I've bought/paid for two 2014 WK2 SRT's now, and I'd do it again - these things are insanely cool.

Once more reputable mods are available for the engine - I am IN IN IN.

I wish Canada had shops or dealers.. but until they do, Chad at Black Ops is my guy.

Re: little disappointment with my Jeep SRT family

To be fair, I have not purchased my wk2 yet, but it is coming.

I used to own a 2006 that I purchased in 2007. I was so happy that there was finally a worthy Suv that I could rip the streets with. It was not perfect but it had sooo much potential. I really longed for a good hitch option though. I also wanted a little more space. Oh And my dealer experience was horrible. So I got rid of it in 2008 for my current 2008 G8Gt and hoped for a revised version.

After waiting and watching the SRT Jeep from afar, I started seeing a trend that was crazy to me. The cost of the srt Jeep kept going higher and higher. I said to myself in 2011 that the cost of the Beast was getting out of control and that hopefully it would be the last of the price hike. I just could not believe that my 2006 fully loaded was $46500 and the beast had risen to about $12000 more in only a few short years. It was nice but I thought, "that is going to take this thing out of the hands of the normal guy".

Well fast forward a couple years....2014 Jeep SRT now costs about 150% the cost of my 2006.(which I bought used for 37000 with 2500 miles).

So after 2 layoffs, a few trips to the middle east to serve, a new baby (courtesy of coming home) and a new home, I can say yes, I survived, I overcame the economy, the politics and all the changes that came about with the last 8 years but I absolutely dont make 150% of my old salary. I dont think that most of the original SRT jeep owners do either.

So that huge chunk of change that would have been spent to do cool mods is just not there anymore. Hell after I get the 2012 in my driveway, I know that it will be my last due to the Jeep drifting further and further away from my pay grade. Soon the Beast will only be affordable for the wealthy.

For me, I am just going to get my 12, drive it when I am not driving my company vehicle for fun,and savor it. I have a kid to put through college in only 3 years and I have a nice home in a safe, and established community that I will pay for. I will try my hardest to get a few mods in but now that the beast costs so much more, I will be limited to DIY mods and maybe a couple exhaust mods. I already have my replacement audio gear since I have been holding on to and taking care of my amps and stuff, but the cost of the vendor bought mods is rising like the cost of the Jeep.

I never would have thought that an exhaust system would cost half the cost of a blower....but we are here. Now do not get me wrong, I think that said exhaust is fantastic, but I could spend about $500 on quality cutouts and get similar results.

I cant wait for the next SUV that fits the same mold as the original SRT jeep. Made for the guy that was thinking about a vette but more suitable for a family. Reasonaby affordable. Unrefined with tons of potential.

.....After all that.....I will admit though that the cost of all vehicles is rising at a rapid pace. Maybe I am the only one that is keeping up with the world.

Now please do not take my words as though I am a complainer or Woe is me. I am a fighter, a family man and definitely not a wealthy one. I just remember a time when things seemed more attainable and I wish that we could get back there. Maybe I am just a dreamer?!?!!?!

The old 05-10 Borla was 1200 new add cutouts to it and its 500 that's 1700 now you have to pay to have em installed 200 that's 1900 your now at the same price of the Borla with cutouts. Not to mention a lot more R&D in the mufflers hence the quiet sound little to no Drone in close mode.

Not sure people are comparing apples to apples Borla is ok for what it is Mufflers and a tip. That said system lol is all completely had built lets compare it to a Rolls Royce vs. A Toyota. It takes days to make 1 exhaust vs. 5-10 per day and the attention to detail is unbelievable.

I agree with everything you said above I'm just trying to stop the comparison because I feel there is none and its quite a value honestly for the build quality. I have had someone contact me to make my own line of exhausts and the price is higher my cost than that said system is retail made in the USA. So I cant build it for what they are selling it for honestly and I know a lot of their system is assembled in the States.

Ok Back on topic we have really seen the Jeep Evolve and I agree we have definitely seen a change in ownership to the more business savvy career minded individual. I cant tell you how many calls I get from guys who own these trucks that have Ferrari's, Lambos, Austin Martins I even have a Bugatti owner for a customer.

They have really changed imo the only down fall I've seen is at the dealerships level they haven't put the proper training in place for the price point of the vehicle. Their should be parts on the shelf and more of a BMW service for the price. I sold my 2012 SRT300 because of hoops the dealers put me through it wasn't worth making the payment my wife was sick of driving back and forth as parts trickled in and they picked and choose what they wanted to fixed at the dealers. They need to step it up at the dealer level stock parts and fix warranted issues no questions asked. Took me 3 dealerships and a call to SRT to fix peeling carbon off the dash a loud rear end and broken adaptive cruse eye all with 10k on the odometer we finally gave up. Heck best one was you dint buy it here we aren't fixing it I looked at him and said "It says Chrysler on the outside of the building" lol. I was totally shocked they let us pay 50-70k and let dealerships operate like this with no backlash.

If a vendor here makes some quality wheel spacers that will give a more flush look with the stock wheels without sacrificed performance safety, I'll buy them. That is assuming the price isn't absurd.

Seems like some sort of dig at the vendors here? Do you want us all gone or to sell cheap stuff that is either unsafe or gonna break in a month?

I take your comment personal as you think we are over here raping you on prices. It's very obvious you need to do some research on what we all do here not just me but Just for Jeeps, Xenon Depot, Twin Turbo Creations and many more because I talk to them all. We all complain about the cost we pay to buy stuff to resale it in case you want to know.

No one here is taking advantage by overpricing parts to you instead we set margins to make a small profit because it's a business sort of like your Job you go make money. Why can't we do that's? I can't even begin to tell you how may orders I actually loose money on because my margins are so tight sorry you feel this way about vendors that try to make parts for your rig.

We all bust our humps every day in and out talking to MFG and trying to hammer down prices to make them cheaper to the end user. I just got off the phone from a 2hr. Phone call with a MFG to only find out I may be able to MFG his own product cheaper that he is MFG it it's a non stop fight to try to lower costs everywhere for our customers.

No such thing exists and I wouldn't make such a thing to many variables for failure.

Let me explain your taking away from the threads even if it's a 1.4" or 1/8' x 5 or 6 logs you are now running minus 1 full lug when added up.

Not to mention you are now adding another surface and the possibilities of sheering off a thread. the wheel is only one surface now you have two against the threads.

I'm not saying it can't be done just not something even my wheel gy will make and sell to me or we believe in.

The only real way is to have a set of wheels custom made to look exactly as you wish. Not the cheapest option but the safest without sacrificing performance.

You are correct on the comparrison thing. I am a craftsman and build stuff with pride so I know that there is no comparrison out there. But I guess it all plays into the next point....Ferrari's, Lambos, Austin Martins I even have a Bugatti owner for a customer....

The 2006 was way more attainable for guys that are not in this class like me. IMO Chrysler/Jeep missed their Niche at the moment when they had the momentum of the gen 1 reputation. I think that they are not worthy of the price that they ask due to your later mentioned comments about service. I too experienced the same issues with about 4 dealers and the SRT hotline. It did contribute to my decision to trade my 06. It is also part of the reason that I am in no way interested in a 14. I have come to accept that they are going to give me crap customer service and that there will be some quality issues. My 06 had parts flying off like the front chrome strip and they did not want to cover it. Or how about picking the jeep up from the dealer after they said that they inspected it and immediately hearing air rushing from the tire. so I asked them to repair it. I go to pick it up again and I hear the same air. I guess they did not see the 2nd hole that was literally 2 inches away from the first. LOL!! I could go on for days about my dealer experience. If I was going to spend close to 70k for a ride I would rather get something where I am treated like I actually just purchased a tier 1 product or at least better service than nissan gives my wife on her $25k altima LOL!!! I mean dont get me wrong, I think the 14 is awesome (although I really do not like the new grill/Headlights) but I'm sorry, Mopar dealerships just plain suck!! I got mad to the point that I wanted to literally fight these guys and I am not that type of guy in my everyday non military life. Well I am willing to accept that I will be doing most of my maintenance myself and only go to the dealer when it is a last resort.

That should not happen when you are buying what was the 2nd most expensive vehicle that they sold at that time (Second to the Viper).

I will simply get the 12, as maintenance items come up I will change out stuff (tires, brakes etc). I will save a little fun budget for exhaust, intake and I will of course do my custom fabrication thing in the Audio department and simply enjoy hopefully many good years without worry about having spent too much on a vehicle with QA issues and bad dealership experience. I have been bitten by the SRT JEEP bug. That is the reason why I am diving back in!
Not to mention, I will probably only be putting about 4000 miles on a year.

The rest of my cash will go back into my home and into the future of my 2 Awesome kids. I guess maybe I am getting boring with my age....all 36 years!!

Maybe one day down the line there will be an 8sp upgrade for the 12-13!!! (Not holding my breath)

Just wanted you to understand, I applaud your efforts to get quality parts to the community. I think that you should be proud of the products that you sell. When I am ready for my parts, You will be getting my business. I actually do plan to put a drop on my Jeep. I will be using springs in the front and building a custom air spring rear setup. I will need those adjustable control arms and a few other things.

Please do not take offense to some of the comments here. I have purchased lame parts before and nothing I see on your site even comes close to that description.
