Looking for Quiet Replacement Tires

Hey Everyone,

The time has come to change the 3 season Pirellis on my rig. I had road noise on the stock tires that while not unbearable, I would have appreciated a smoother quieter ride. I would love to hear everyone's suggestions as I will be ordering a set next week.

Best,

Dotcom

Re: Looking for Quiet Replacement Tires

What model of jeep do you have and what type of tire are you looking for (AT, MS, touring)?

Theres not many choices in the odd size SRT used. Try tirerack.com for reviews on each tire they sell.

I have the same Nitto 420S and so far I have really liked them and they do seem a lot more smooth and quite.

No nitto 420's for stock rims. I have 1k miles on my Paradas, and have been happy with them. They ride a little smoother than the OEM all seasons; noise is not a problem.

They stick well during normal driving. I can get the rear end to slip, which I could not do with the OEMs, but this has been intentional .

Re: Looking for Quiet Replacement Tires

Well I placed my order for the Yokohama Paradas yesterday on Tire Rack. It was $700 for the Tires and an additional $140 for the shipping. I'll let everyone know when I get them mounted, hopefully the ride will be improved over the choppy runflat stockers.

Keep us posted as I think this is what I will do when I need a new set...close to $2K for tires to replace OEM ones is insane.

Re: Looking for Quiet Replacement Tires

The Parada's aren't performance tires, their sidewall is obscenely weak so it's not surprising you are able to get them loose. The closest performance tires in our size are the BFG KDW's but they are known to get noisy over time. The Nitto and Toyo options are both better options than the Parada's' IMHO.
