Looking for some Input

Just looking for some input here from people , I do recall someone from here using Nulon oil in there jeep wk2 srt8 but can't remember who it was ? Anyway they where happy with the Australian made product so I went to there website to see if the 2014 Jeep GC SRT8 was covered for warranty if I started using this oil and the car was not listed so I sent them a email and there reply is as follows

Hi John,

Thank you for your enquiry regarding Nulon engine oil for your Grand Cherokee SRT.

To give advice on the warranty condition set down by Jeep Australia we really need to look at the exact wording of the vehicle handbook. Nulon use automotive industry databases that provide us with an interpretation of the handbook information using industry standard classifications. Our data sources inform us that your model vehicle requires an SAE 0W-40 viscosity oil (SAE- Society of Automotive Engineers) that also carries both API SM and API CF performance ratings (API – American Petroleum Institute). Hence we recommend SYN0W-40 that meets all these industry standards.

If your handbook uses the industry classifications of SAE and API then I would confidently say that the Nulon product meets the warranty conditions but sometimes vehicle manufacturers word things a little differently to compel you to buy a genuine fluid. If you are in any doubt please send through a copy of your handbook recommendation page or give us a call on the freecall number below, between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday (Sydney).

Nulon 0W-40 Full Synthetic High Performance Engine Oil is designed to provide the ultimate protection for European, US and Japanese high performance and prestige engines requiring 0W-40 engine oil. PAO and Ester base stocks coupled with high performance additives creates the ultimate oil for all modern high performance engines. Re: Looking for some Input

Should not be a problem.. as long as you are using the same viscosity as required by manufacturer.

I am using Red Line Synthetic Oil 0W40, which is an ester based oil too and the engine is running great.

Re: Looking for some Input

Hmm okay thanks but I will wait for the reply from Nulon and see what they have to say , and I found a distributor for the Red Line oil you mentioned here in Australia which is good , I brought enought Penrite oil for 2 oil changes from Amazon but the wait time and freight cost I would rather try and support local .

Re: Looking for some Input

I have always used Nulon for over 20 years and never had a problem.
I have not done a change on mine yet, but would look at Nulon when the time comes.
