Re: Looking to get a 2016 Jeep SRT

I was running 4.3-4.4 0-60's at 13.0 stock. Trapping 103-104.

I've got a CAI and tune (and mufflex #WeightReduction ) and I'm running 3.8-3.9 0-60's; 12.5 @ 109 per Uconnect.

In 95 degree Houston heat I can still get a 4.1 0-60.

Beyond that? Headers, etc are useless unless you're getting a blower.

So either go conservative with an intake/tune, or go ALL THE WAY with a blower. Anything in between is a waste.

So you picked up 5 mph with those mods? Do you think that mostly came from the tune? I did the cai and exhaust at the same time so it's hard to say what helped out more. My guess is the gt huas system is it sheds some weight compared to that factory refrigerator that came off and I thought I read A dyno proven 15/15 hp,tq number to the wheels. I'd be happy getting into the 105's compared to my 103.5's stock. Gotta take her to the strip again to confirm.

You got me thinking of a tune now. But should do tb prior. Never stops lol.

Op. Sorry for the jack.

I think it's a little from the intake and a little from the tune.

I also had REALLY good resluts from the 93 Octane Diablo tune (that most people say sucks), so take that for what it is. I've now got a Johan tune and it's about the same from launch, but I picked up coupe mph in the 8th and 1/4.

Oh! I've got a Fastman TB, too. No idea what that gave me. Maybe it helped after the tuning?

No idea. Small investment so I grabbed it.

So the custom tune was worth it over the hand held unit?

Gotcha. I see you have a 2014. I believe 2015's haven't been cracked yet. Thanks for the info.

Ya the only option for a 15 tune is a second custom ecu for bout $1k including tune....I'm gonna pass on that one....

My 15 SRT is still bone stock so the following is anectdotal from my 5.7l light modding....the Corsa Cat-back actually increased my 0-60 time by about .3 ish sec...ears and butt dyno def said "woohoo" but Corsa confirmed the increase being a result of their exhaust being so high flowing that it robs from launch but gives back mid+....I bring this up as I have heard the GT Haus is basically the same thing going on with the 6.4l motor.....would like your thoughts on that one.....

Re: Looking to get a 2016 Jeep SRT

Honestly, I rarely drive with the
Valves closed haha. Why silence a great singer . But I do notice that in auto mode the truck seems to move quicker with the valves closed. Especially under part throttle. Very slight but I think it does. In sport mode and especially track mode it's hard to tell a difference because of how fast the trans bangs gears. I haven't tested 0-60 yet but the other night when temps were high 20's , I did a rolling launch too get away from an annoying 350z , and with valves open in track mode with a slight roll then punch I swear to god I lose my focus for a split second. Then saw some flashing lights in the corner of my eyes lol. Think the blood rushed from my eyes to the rear of my head lol. So point being. No down low grunt lost on that pull with valves open as It never felt so strong in all her 18000 miles.

Ya, I have not put my SRT through it's paces yet (killing me)...with my 5.7 for me it sounded and felt fast but the times told a slightly diff story but that was only off idle from stop...rolling was snappier but that was the 5.7 and the Corsa so apples and oranges but I think analogous...I know what you mean about the OMG animal snap...I could never consistently replicate the conditions but on rolling to WOT if the motor and trans were in the right gear and rpm's wound up or down from where they just were she would friggin' launch hard...every time it did that I would spend 20 mins trying to recreate the scenario without success mostly.......so my SRT has the same behavior....cool, will be fun playing with it....

Re: Looking to get a 2016 Jeep SRT

It's been a while so a little update.

Just placed an order for a 2016 Redline Night Edition! Should be here in 2 months according to the salesman, maybe sooner. I still think it hasn't hit me haha.
