Re: Love Jeep. F***ing disgusted with dealers.

Sigh...the one sympathetic ear in this, SRT Customer Support Team gave us the shove off today.

The case was escalated to the corporate buy-back team last Friday, who were supposed to call back yesterday. Not only did they not call back, but after nearly 2 hours on the phone they told us that while yes, the case had been escalated, the district manager put in a request to squash the case, and so they tossed it. No explanation needed, as the local district managers apparently have absolute authority to do this.

We asked point blank, and were told that Fiat Chrysler will no longer have any involvement with this issue and we're on our own.

For those of you who mentioned a firewall vibration, what did that end up being? I started hearing a similar noise today...a buzz from the driver side firewall area under acceleration.

Re: Love Jeep. F***ing disgusted with dealers.

I feel your pain. Not to thread-jack, but very similar situation with my 2015 Ram. Pre-delivery damage to roof and a-pillars not disclosed at delivery, only found out from a water leak a couple of months later. Dealer did the right thing and admitted the mistake, bought it back, but I had to file a claim with state dmv office for a refund of the stupid dealer fees and other artificial charges. Once the dmv rep visited them, they were begging me to settle and I did. Got exactly what I wanted.

Unrelated, these are the same people charging up to $20k dealer markup on a Hellcat! If it didn't apply prior to this, they now have earned the "stealership" designation as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks...was there a specific spot it was rubbing? I would assume somewhere in that area, but a general area may help me narrow it down. Not sure why it is just now starting after 13k miles unless a mount or some sort of bushing has started to wear out, etc and things have shifted.

Re: Love Jeep. F***ing disgusted with dealers.

After reading through this fiasco, I'm wondering if the state or even the DMV can bring some pressure to bear on this dealer to own up to the damage?

Check the heat shield studs adjacent to the left exhaust pipe and the heat shield bordering the left catalytic converter: the studs may need to be trimmed, and the catalytic converter's heat shield may need adjustment.

Re: Love Jeep. F***ing disgusted with dealers.

Wow how Jeep has changed.. I have and do own many many Jeeps. I was born in Butler PA and am the home of the Jeep.. When I say many Jeeps ,,I mean the good ones ,,never owned any yuppie versions,,,until now. We have 3 Comanches. I have a mint 92. A 91 that has been relegated to the farm. It has 290,000 on the 4.0 ... Runs perfect with the original clutch. I don't like automatics. That jeep built our cabin on a dozer path we cut.....We are in PA and it's steep. All of the wood and Trusses were hauled up there by the Comanche. I have owned a J-4000, A CJ-2a, you name it... The worst thing that has happened to Jeep over the years is,,,not the quality,,,it's who owns them.... It's not Jeep people,,,it's just people.. and that dilutes the breed. Jeep made a huge mistake trying to satisfy the masses ,,and it all started with the Liberty and went downhill from there. That being said,,,My wife has been driving her 98 Cherokee for 15 yrs....and it getting a little worn out to the point that I'm going to have to use it as a daily driver...So I bought her an Overland Summit and I can't believe how I love it and how much sh#t it has to go wrong....Reading about the exhaust,,,just tells me at least the old Jeep exist.. I hope this Jeep never lets me down and forces me to buy a prius !!!!!!!!

Re: Love Jeep. F***ing disgusted with dealers.

Where do you guys find these $hitty dealers?

I bought my Overland, back 1/4 trim inside was bulging and had 3/8 gap.
I know owners son, who I bought the Jeep from, Service Manager and couple good techs there.
Anyhow stop by and they snap a couple pics and order the interior, call me when trim comes in and set up appointment, give free loaner (they have 25 free loaners for any repairs) day of repair.

Give my buddy 4 cans of Fluid Film to spray the outer panels around rear wheel wells and lower valance pockets behind the wheel wells to rust proof while interior is removed, tip with 12 pk Sam Adams. Took him a couple hrs to remove everything correctly and reinstall. Did nice job, everything fits correctly and was clean!
Who ever assembled at factory missed poping the fasteners into couple holes on one side and bent them, on other side the trim just didn't align. Guess Jeep will send back to vendor for credit. They had to box up old trim and send back.

Guess the trick is to buy from a small dealer versus these huge mega stores!
