Re: Lower grille SRT badge ordering

ok, you need to explain this method better. I jacked around with it for over an hour last night. Its installed but nuts are only finger tight so far. I couldnt get my arm through the sensor hole in the middle and I couldnt get the plastic pan completely off under the front bumper.

Re: Lower grille SRT badge ordering

Can I just say.....if you want this item to stay where ya put it, then invest 1/2hr of your time and fit it properly! Take the friggen brake ducting off and you'll have enough room to fit the badge AND have a party in there. It is not hard to undo 10-12 bolts, pull out the ducting, fit your badge, and replace the ducting. Someone mentioned using locking nuts, great idea (I used spring washers for the same effect and mine hasn't moved a mm). Maybe im a cranky old mechanic that believes men (and women) should know how to undo a bolt and then refit one. Its not rocket science, even though some people think it is.

I went in through the sensor cutout in the center of the lower grill and used locking washers and a ratcheting wrench to tighten the nuts. There is no way mine is coming off. If you have smaller arms or a small wife or enterprising kid, there is no reason to drop the brake ducts. It is literally a 5 minute job to pop out 2 trim rings around the sensor, place the emblem, reach in and place the backing plate and then use a magnetic pick-up tool to feed the washers and nuts through to your fingers. Then hand tighten the nuts and finally reach in and tighten the nuts completely with the ratcheting wrench. Of course if you have big arms this way won't work.

The longest part of the process was figuring out where to locate the emblem (how far right and how far up or down).

Re: Lower grille SRT badge ordering

SRT badge from Dom went on just now. I will write up a HOW TO in here with a few images.
It was a piece of pi55!
Cheers

Ok what I did was remove the front camera cover off. Work the bottom off first on one side by getting your fingers behind it.

Take one side out until you hear a small pop

Cover comes straight off easy.

Now you can slightly pull on the grill towards you to create a bigger gap between the grill and the camera hub. Stick your arm in and unless your forearms are built like Arnie you'll be right. One by one feed what you need behind the grill to meet the badge.

Expect your under forearm to look something like this afterwards

Pop the cap back on and your done!

Nice one
