Lowering springs affecting adaptive headlights??

Recently, I had my dealer put in new HID bulbs...I immediately noticed that the horizontal alignment of the headlight beams was way off, because there's a large dark area right in front of the car when I drive at night. I immediately assumed that the dealer didn't seat the bulbs in the sockets correctly, so I brought it back to the dealer today.

They are telling me that since my SRT is lowered (I have the RM mid-drop springs), it's confusing the adaptive headlights, causing them to aim themselves off to the side. Has anyone heard of this? Seems unlikely to me...aren't the adaptive headlights based on the orientation of the steering wheel and not the ride height of the vehicle?

They said that when they put my Jeep on the lift and raised it a little, the headlights re-aligned themselves fine, but when they set it back on the ground, they become off-center again. What the heck??

No sir...they are based on ride height sensors on the suspension. I just had a problem with them programming new headlights and they had to put the jeep in a.lift and raise the control arms to program my headlights

Just relayed your info to my dealer and they actually said there were about to do the same thing and reprogram the headlights, but the BCM is throwing a fault code because of the LED reverse lights in put in. When there's a fault code you can't reprogram the headlights. So now I have to put the stock halogen reverse bulbs back in and then bring it back so the dealer can program the headlights...what a pain...

I had to lower the vertical pitch of the lights with my springs as I was spitting squirrels with the lower springs ... Just had to get a long narrow screwdriver and at night shine against s garage door and lower them... But nothing ever impacted the horizontal movement or direction

You can do a search on here for details there is a little hole above the light... But you need a real long screwdriver

You may want to check at night and make sure they are straight on and maybe lower them a little as it may just be the pitch is off a little

Yeah, the vertical adjustment was my first thought, but the headlights are auto-aiming themselves way off center horizontally too, and there's no manual horizontal adjustment. It's strange, my beam patterns seems to be criss-crossed. When I project the beam patterns on a wall at night, i have two distinct hotspots (that are way too far apart). If I cover the driver's side headlight, the passenger side hotspot on the wall goes away (and vice versa). So basically I have a hella cross-eyed SRT lol.
