Best thing to do is talk to you dealer that performs your servicing and get their word for sure because jeep can be a bit difficult with resolving issues in regards to warranties. Let's just say that you have an issue in your suspension area, your dealership may use your lowered spring as an excuse for any issues and not resolve the problem even if your issue had nothing to do with your springs. It won't void your warranty but it could give them an easy excuse to make you go away. I'm not bagging on jeep but their dealerships are know for being a bit clueless at times.
This is what I'm worried about. I guess will have to enjoy it stock and do a little more homework, hopefully by then will have more availabilty on parts and labor. Otherwise if too risky, will just wait till warranty is out. Do you know anybody in Melb who has lowered their SRT? would love to get a chance to see one lowered in real life.

Had an aftermarket Alpine system in the rear headrests in both my previous GCs. Never got used in my WJ (bought it with it installed) Now have kids and they really enjoyed it in the WH, so had to have it again. Cos the WK has active headrests, hard to find aftermarket screens and I much preferred it to all be factory. I was really lucky when I ordered, cos the colour I wanted with the exact options, happened to be on a ship. All dealers I went to said they haven't seen this option in Australia yet, so I guess I'll be one of the first. In fact all dealers said wasn't available yet and weren't sure when it will be. By chance, the dealership I bought from happened to ring, in front of me, to see what stock was being built and coming to Aus and was luck enough to land this one. Exactly what I wanted. I guess it was meant to be.

Regarding cost, off memory, it was a 2.5k option (pretty good, considering would cost around the same for after market, which wouldn't be as good).

Thanks for the info...I wonder if they could retro fit it if I wanted. I'll ask on Tuesday as I'm going in for first service

Re: Melbourne SRT Club

You cant retrofit the DVD system. It's fitted into the rear of the front seats (not the headrest but the back of the seat itself), so the seats are slightly different. Plus you wont have the wiring harness in your Jeep which would be a real PITA to retrofit.

Re: Melbourne SRT Club

Hi dcrsrt, correct, different seats, the screen folds up behind the headrest to view it and down to hide it. The seat also has aux inputs on each side for adding additional AV devices. The only thing I can't figure out is where the DVD player is. Nobody here in aus has been able to answer for me and I have had a search on this forum also, but can't seem to find an answer. Do you know? it's not even mentioned in the brochure. Just says it plays blue ray etc.

Re: Melbourne SRT Club

The DVD player is in the center console and replaces the stupid CD Player that all the JGC (except Laredo) come with.

Re: Melbourne SRT Club

Ah wow I'm slightly annoyed that I can't do this. Obviously it's the trade off when getting the model so soon a after it comes available.
Anyway I don't have kids, but having it is still appealing to me.

Re: Melbourne SRT Club

Hey Batzi, I believe the CD player plays blu-ray as well & it is located in the centre console. Let me know how the movies sound through the HK speakers

Re: Melbourne SRT Club

The OEM CD player only plays CD's. When you choose the rear entertainment system, they put in a DVD.

Re: Melbourne SRT Club

Hi all,

Im from out Tullamarien way and have a 2014 spec in black with the spider wheels. Have installed a GSP tracker which works great and its cheap (why would you not put one in every car). I have hard wired frount and rear DVR. Plan to install rear entertainment system for the kids and plan to remove the stupid CD player. The car is great and at this stage dont plan on doing much else to it.

regards
