Which ones better? I like shiney!!! That's the satin billet. My Procharger will replace the HPE CAI and that's going to be polished.

Re: Might be selling my Wk2 SRT

TJ you the man!
Forza, yeah but i think i may end up keeping it now.. the situation is its not tax deductible even though i use to heavily for towing and ranch use. So rather than getting my sister another non deductible car im going to rewrap the jeep for her. I got my dad's pruddy ranch truck (i think scott will agree it looks great for a GMC), he'll get Cummins and i can start on my 68 C10 project as well. lol so its the ol' musical cars switch-a-roo.

Re: Might be selling my Wk2 SRT

Why isn't it tax deductible? Is it not a section 179 situation?

for ag in CA use the vehicle has to have a factory tow rating of 6000lbs or greater

Re: Might be selling my Wk2 SRT

Yeah me too, but I was pretty sure the 2012 srt8 had a gvwr of 6400-6500 lbs.

Edit: I misread. I didn't know California wanted a tow rating. You may be right, but its a federal deduction and I think it should apply to you.

Heavily dependent on options. I got 48,200 on my trade yesterday with 14.7k miles in AZ. Fully loaded.

Definitely do. He may have tow rating confused with the 6000lb gvwr requirement for deductible vehicles.

Gvwr is a strange beast that is calculated by the weight of the vehicle and its carrying capacity (and I'm sure other variables.)

The 2012 had a gvwr of 6,500 lbs if I'm not mistaken.

Business Vehicles - Section 179 Deductions | Section179.Org

It would be strange if CA had a separate code, but I suppose its possible.
One way or another, I'm deducting my 14 as a farm vehicle.

Edit: it has nothing to do with the tow rating and more so vehicle weight plus maximum fuel, passengers and cargo that it can hold. It's still used for section 179 deductions. 25k plus 50% if purchased new. Remainder goes to a depreciation schedule.

In CA, don't they deduct the trade value from your sales price before the calulate sales tax? That's what I was referring to. At 8% sales tax, you save about $4K on your new purchase vs. selling your car to a private party.

That's true. He's talking about deducting the vehicle as a business expense though.
