I can understand from most of your point of views that is just another mustang... but that is not the case.
I ordered my car, was able to find it for MSRP (at the time and 6 month +/- of my order dealers everywhere were charging $10k-$20k over MSRP for this car)
I drove to the plant to watch final production, then picked it up at the dealer with them doing a pdi only... so no one other than myself has ever washed it, drove it (except on/ off carrier truck/ assembly line)
I even rode with the tech during the pdi...
it's a special cat not just to me.

regardless, it has and will hold its value much more than the Jeep
I have the same car, ordered in April '12 and got in July '12. Paid $1500 under MSRP.

Agree about resale. The Shelby is worth as much as my Jeep I got 9 months ago that had an $8k higher MSRP. It was worth $14k more than my 2012 SRT when I traded that in last December and the 2012 had a $3k higher MSRP

Re: Might have to cancel order... Opinions please!

If the Ford is as valuable as you indicate, that is more reason to have a proper tow vehicle.

The length or frequency of the trip has nothing to do with it. If you want to justify a bad decision, you didn't need the internet.

Agreed. I'd check into a RAM 1500 or bigger or get a smaller trailer unless that thing has room for way more clutches and parts...

$44kon a 13 Iis a wrecked car for sure.

And 13/14 are the real value holders due to the new tech, engine etc etc..
much like the 14 srt compared to 12 and 13....
I never would have even considered the SRT if they stayed the same from 12/13.. Didn't like the interior and can't tow

2012 is not the same car. Their values are toast. Absolutely zero way a 2013 is going for $41k unless it is a salvage.

Nice attempt at trying to play it off like our Jeep SRT8s are worth more and given a shit about in the car world though. Reality? Drive your SRT because you like it, but most people don't know what it is and don't give a shit. The Shelby, completely different story. Can't drive it without people looking or asking about it, even the old guys talk because of its heritage.

True, but with a 24' enclosed trailer, the added size/weight of the 3/4 ton helps out. A 1/2 ton properly equipped can also get the job done, but if I were going to buying a truck strictly for towing, I'd go with the 3/4 ton.

hey, its just money. a freightliner would tow it even better.

the stock 1500 ram can tow 10200 in factory trim. have you seen what they are selling diesel trucks for these days???? i would think its funny that the tow rig costs more than the "race car" in the trailer.

Yup, which is why I have mentioned all along the OP can buy a beater 3/4 ton if he just wants a cheaper, dedicated tow rig. However, if he has $25k in mods on his Mustang and a $70k tow Jeep on order and can buy a 24' enclosed trailer sight unseen, maybe the money is there for a proper tow rig. There are deals out there to be had. Personally, I think it is stupid to get an enclosed trailer just so a modern Mustang doesn't get rained on, especially if it forces you to re-evaluate your entire tow set-up and cancel your SRT order, but I am only here to offer friendly (albeit sometimes sarcastic) advice.

Hell, I'd just drive the Mustang to the track 2 hours away and not even worry about towing it.
