Misaligned Driver Door...

This is a PSA to remember and check the fitment of all body panels during delivery. Somehow my wife and I both missed the misalignment on my driver door. It appears it is shifted up as the creases down the side are slightly mismatched. Unfortunately I picked it up in TX and didn't notice until I was walking up to it in a parking lot when we stopped for lunch somewhere in Mississippi. I took it to the dealer here, but they don't have a body shop, so I was referred to their sister Chevy dealer where they utilize their body shop. The estimator at the body shop wants me to drop it off once day next week. He thinks it may be an easy adjustment, but said he has a few things to check as it could potentially be something a bit more difficult to fix, but he didn't elaborate. I'm so ticked off, but more at myself for not noticing. With how the body lines are, it can't really be seen from up close looking down at the doors. Anyways, I'm not sure the dealer in Texas where I took delivery would have been able to adjust it over the weekend when I picked up. Oh well, everything else about the vehicle is amazing, although I can't believe this got past QC at JNAP or maybe I am just being too picky. Atleast the hood and hatch are lined up perfectly unlike others I have seen.

Re: Misaligned Driver Door...

Just dropped it off at the dealer body shop...I'm hoping they can get it adjusted so it looks a bit better.

Re: Misaligned Driver Door...

Well the Chevy dealer body shop that my local Jeep dealership contracts out to did a fantastic job and got my door all lined up. They said it was a bit more involved than just a simple 10 minute adjustment, but I didn't ask them to elaborate as they were closing up. Everything looks great, Jeep obviously footed the bill and the door opens and closes solidly.

Re: Misaligned Driver Door...

Glad you got it resolved. I had a similar issue with the liftgate being out of adjustment. My dealer sent it to a body shop and it cost Chrysler over $300.00 to correct it. They push these things off the assembly line at the rate of 1 every 58 seconds.

Chrysler has never been known for quality control and never will. The best part is that they don't care.
