Re: Mopar Vehicle Protection?

Welcome! Congratulations on your purchase. What did you get on the way of an srt?

I went for the max care on mine for 2870.

I avoided the wheel and tire protection, mostly because I already have it through Allstate. They only cover $250 per wheel /tire, but I didn't want to get another plan.

I got a 2015 Granite Crystal Metallic SRT. It is such an amazing vehicle. I thought about getting e 2016, but they had one that matched what I wanted and I drive it home that day.

I apologize, the $2300 was for non-SRT Jeeps. The SRT surcharge is $450, making it $2750.

I think using Allstate for your tire and wheel protection is risky for 2 reasons. First, that $250 is not going to go very far if you had to replace either a tire or wheel. Secondly, if you place a claim on the Mopar protection your auto insurance is safe. My guess is that if you place a claim on your Allstate insurance your auto insurance is going to go up. Allstate is not going to pay out a claim and not recover at least a part of it.

I have no idea what Tire and Wheel protection costs on an SRT but on my Cherokee 7 full years worth was a flat $300. Paid that once and done. The Mopar plan will pay out up to $1,500 a year, so if you damaged one of those expensive SRT wheels it would cover the whole thing, $250 certainly would not.

Just had another thought. Is Allstate guaranteeing you to replace an SRT wheel with a genuine Mopar wheel? The Mopar plan will guarantee that.

Tire and wheel is the same for the SRT and non-SRT vehicles. Around $275.

$250? The tire alone is $400 and the wheel is $1500.

You wouldn't want to be first off the assembly line with a new Electric steering system and suspension components that have been switched from steel to aluminum anyway. I'd want to see if any unexpected issues arise in those system for least 6 months before pulling the trigger.

Dealer gouged you like they do to a lot of people. If you bought it recently get it refunded and then buy it though ziegler online and save yourself $1500. Ziegler offers a fair price and good people to work with.

Firstly, I must apologize. I meant Allstate Motor Club, not the standard insurance company.

Secondly, the way their program works, beyond all of the other perks of membership, they have a pretty decent road hazard plan. The downside is, that they only cover up to $250 of a particular incident and up to $500 in a year. They don't try to get you to buy cheap tires or wheels, but they only pay up to $250. Sure that doesn't sound that great, but what does the MoPar plan actually provide for? How many times will they replace a tire or a wheel? The guy at the dealership where I bought mine made it sound like you get one go around and that is all.

Thirdly, I already have the Allstate for the towing protection and the like because of my antique cars, you never know when you may need it.

Fourth, Will the MoPar plan cover different tires? I swapped my Verdes for Yokomhamas after about 20 miles. Will it cover different wheels? I just picked up a set of split spokes for winter tires.

Thanks!

Enjoy it! That's a great color. I almost went for a 2016 since I started looking just when the 15 ordering ended. I had to drive 3 states away to get the car I wanted, but it all worked out very well!

The Mopar plan is actually pretty good for the $310 I paid for it. It's in effect for 7 years from date of purchase and gives you replacement on 4 rims and 4 tires over the life of the plan if I remember correctly. But you are limited to $1500 per year but it does cover different tires and even aftermarket rims. I know the rims on the summit are $700 for replacement not including the tire and the SRTSs are about twice that much. It also appears easy to use there was a guy on here that hit something and gouged his tire and put a minor scuff on the rim. Now the way the plan is written it does not cover cosmetic on the rims they need to be bent for replacement so all they were required was to replace the tire. The dealer replaced the tire and rim with no question for free because he had that plan. These 20 inch rims bend easy I bent 2 in one year at $700 a pop before I got smart enough to buy the plan.
