No not at all. Everything's cool.

I am still just so peeved that I was looking forward to this car for like a year and half now, and now it might not happen.

Re: MSRP released!

oh I agree....I was looking at a pretty base SRt for around $42-$45K...now Im looking over $50k. But there is NOTHING else I would consider short of a Porsche Cayenne for around $90k and I dont think its performance and quality is worth it. I have driven the Cayenne s, GTS and Turbo and I dont think the interior, fit and finish or anyting else is any better than the Overlands I have seen and drove. I need an SUV.....not a station wagon or performance sedan.

^^^ Man, this guy's an ass.
lol, j/k.
I have my order still in as well. I came really close to canceling, but I can't find anything else I'd rather have for it's purpose.

Again, they raised the price because they could. I haven't canceled yet, because you're right, you can't buy a better high performance SUV at this price. However, because the price is now so high, I could buy a fully loaded Durango Citadel Hemi for 43K (2011 with discount), or a fully loaded CTS-V Wagon (2011 with discount) for the same as my SRT8 prices out to be. Not to mention an Overland. I am looking at all my options now.

Then there's the whole stupid Canadian price thing, which still makes no sense. (All other cars are cheaper in the US EXCEPT this one)
I would be happier it it were cheaper. I would be happier still if it were free.

What if some years ago you bought a house for 50,000 and last week your next door neighbor with a house just a little better than yours sold his lfor 450,000. The next day someone offers you 125,000 for your house. What would you be willing to sell it for? What you paid for it, what it is worth (375,000) or what you were offered? If you said 375,000 are you greedy?

You are one of four carpenters who can build the type of cabinet I want. The first one will charge 130.00. He does the best job. The other two who will do almost as nice a job and one that I will be pleased with will charge me 90.00. I offer to pay you 60.00 for the job which will be of the same quality as the two that would charge me 90.00. Should you charge me 45.00? If you charge me 60.00 are you being greedy? Am I stupid to pay you the 60.00?

As I said, Jeep could charge another 10K if they wanted to. Heck, they could charge 75K, and some stupid schmoe would buy it.

They are alienating enthusiasts, and newbies like me. I can most definitely afford it. Is it worth it? That's what we all have to ask ourselves. It obviously is worth it to you.

Re: MSRP released!

It's a badass vehicle. Just wasn't badass enough for me to not cancel my pre-order due to that price. I'm happy with my brand new Summit!

Several years ago you bought a custom house from SRT Construction, Inc. for $100,000. You LOVED the house and enjoyed every second of living in it.

In the years following the builder builds several similar houses in your neighborhood, each year they go up a little bit, from $100,000 to $101,000 to $102,000 to $104,000.

You get a call from the construction company who says that in a couple of years they will have an all-new and improved house with a much better interior layout, much better materials, etc. You start saving your money...

The builder calls and says that he will be able to start building your house in a few months and asks if you would like to put a deposit on one, since they will only be able to build a limited number of them...

You agree, and give the builder a few thousand $ down... then, just before your house is ready to get built, the builder calls and tells you he has the pricing for the new house... Rusty, the price is going to be $145,000. The builder apologizes for the whopping 40% + price increase but tells you that it's still "a great value" since other builders are selling a similar house for twice as much.

Is the builder being greedy? Would you be happy about being blindsided with the unexpected 40% increase?

At the same time they are attracting Porsche owners like myself that would have never bought the WK1 due to the cheap interior and raw look and yes a cheaper price......
people buy what seems to be worth to them......

whining about it is not going to change the situation.....

very simple, if it is worthed to you buy it, if it is not then there is need to preach here about how much of a rip off it is.......

Good day.....
