i know of one person using them, he made them from rubber on the red site. there are no mudflaps commercially available.

Re: mudflaps

As much as many people will cringe at the thought of putting mudflaps on, I think they are very much needed... the front of my rear wheel arches are terribly rock chipped...

Re: mudflaps

I'm having dealer install Mopar 'splash guards" at delivery.

Someone else on the forum installed them and they looked pretty good. Do a search - it's out there (with photos).

(I have the same concern - Colorado uses sand + Mag Chloride for snow/ice.)

Re: mudflaps

my jeep came with something. they look terrible and have damaged the paint. i left them on through the winter but will be removing pretty much ASAP. they appear to be factory jeep ones just hammered on. looks much worse in person.

Re: mudflaps

The factory ones install with clips - wherever the thread is about them said they were easy to install on the fronts, less so on the rears.

I'll let you know after I pick mine up on the 8th.

Re: mudflaps

mine are installed with a vast array of giant screws and bolts.

if anything i can see the rears working better than the fronts. most of my paint damage is in the front where they appear to be hammered in place.

I have the Mopar mudflaps on both front and rear on a '14 Overland--black rather than body painted. Pleasantly surprised at how well they handled Colorado snows/ice/muck and kept it away from the sides.

IIRC, they may not fit the SRT8. Dunno if the Weathertech units will.

A set of semi units and a Dremel might work...

Even though we're [mostly] past the snows for this year (except for the forecasted rain/snow mix tomorrow night) this is exactly what I am looking for in installing the splash guards from the get-go.

The Mopar ones allow quite a bit of flex... I've gotten my jeep so iced up that the ice was literally dragging on the ground all along underneath both sides, but the flaps kept the road ice from building up along the sides. They didn't seem to do much more filling up of the wheel wells with ice than an older jeep with no flaps did under the same severe conditions. I still got ice along the sides, but it was from snow/ice coming from the sky or other vehicles.

Does anyone else have what appears to be a pair of thin clear plastic coverings just behind the rear wheel wells? They look like very heavy plastic clear tape stuck there--kinda hard to notice from a distance.
