Hey YFD,can see why your sporting a sore back, you sure do have that baby gleaming,as with others,I really am impressed with that shine, the light is bouncing in every direction.VERY nice.
Per your rim,Suprised the dealer didn't offer to repair/replace,could be me,but looks like there is carbonization underneath that damage,i.e.,been there awhile, but on a personal note,I had damage to a front rim,but noticed mine on delivery and although the dealership I use didn't replace it,they not only have a 'dent master' type company come in,but also a wheel repair company come in and I waited about an hour and a half,(CONVINCED they wouldn't be able to fix it because I felt the damage to be significant),when advised it was done,I was amazed, just couldn't see any damage at all.My point being,I DID ask the wheel specialist? what it would have cost me if I paid for it myself,he told me it would have cost $65 BUT that was back in 2011,not sure what it would cost on yours as mine was WAY worse at two points of my rim, more like two scars.
Personally,I am shocked with only 100 miles on a flagship model, that your dealer wouldn't fix it,but would reimburse you.Thats real inconvenient to say the least, but if your anal about your truck like I am,depending on your location, these companies DO come to dealerships to repair wheels,if that's not the case in your area, there may be mobile services that come to your place of business and/or the home.
On a positive though, like you,I do in depth cleaning so like you,I notice visual damage/problems pretty quick.Although just a small 'gash',over a short period of time, that will bubble under the finish.
Sorry for the long winded reply, but hope a wheel/rim repair company/suggestion works for you.
Lastly,as I said at the beginning, that is one sweet ride and a hell of a shine. Thanks for sharing a cool picture, even though it was back breaking to achieve!
